i know you can get blueprints of ships but how do you make the ships?

One of the plots gives as its reward a station that can produce ships. This is the only way to build ships in a vanilla game.

Go to station Menu at your PHQ

Select "Adjust Station Parameters"

Look at "Add to production cue"

You will find Buster listed,plus any others you have Blueprints for.

Select the ship of choice.

(Further down is adjust production cue.)

Go back to station menu

Select "Info"

You will now see a list of "Production Resources"

It lists the resource required,followed by a bar that shows how much of that resource you have.
Beneath that bar is the actual quantity needed.

Once the PHQ has the req. resources , it will start to build.
If you have acquired a blueprint by Reverse Engineering,it will take as long to build as it did to RE.
This will be shown in "Production Cycle Info",below.
