Following the announcement would/will Egosoft be able to let us know the required/minimum (so we know to triple it ) specifications, multi-core/process with GPU, multi or otherwise.
In other words, what hardware would be best thrown at it?

Specs are one of those tricky things to nail down; it can literally come down to the last couple weeks of production to find out what exactly the game can run on effectively, and what it needs to really hit its stride. So although we could speculate at this point, it wouldn't be much use, as it's all fairly fluid.
But... I will have to sadly inform you that it will not, in fact, run on the dusty Amiga in your attic.

I don't know about an X in the first 5 letters, but, if my theory proves correct, this game picks up where Terran Conflict left off, that's my theory and I'm sticking to it.
I think there were plenty of hints in the X Encyclopedia.Plus as mentioned above, the current X-story line may end with TC,but that does not stop another story line being developed.
As for online requirement to play, that would lose me and many others.
Multi-player on the other hand,as an option, may woo many newer players and indeed many current long term players.
But remember that TNBT has been in developement for a few years,so let's not rule anything out.
Wow, I disappear for a while and this gets announced!
Well, my thoughts;
A whole new game would mean a new forum category which would be a bit of effort and ruin the whole "X Universey" feel of the forums..
Also, what was the wait time between announcement and launch of previous games? is it possible that they have held off announcing so its closer to being ready?
Might be for a Christmas release.
Also, probably a safe bet that it might have console versions to help them spread their wings.
I'm feeling something space related... maybe dogfighterish... who knows. Roll on the end of April

I bet that's why the forum is duee to go offline for about 1 hour soon...
Hmm, its been two days since the announcement of the announcement and I've been checking this site regularly every two hours.
Not cos I think to myself "Oh, ill go see if theres any news on the next big thing..." but its like it happens automatically. I have a second of free time, and before I know it, Im on the X-Universe forums, and im thinking to my self, "how the hell did that happen..."
Will actual gameplay be shown or just a cutscene like fmv or somit?
Wont be trek but damn it would be cool if it was.
I know its not another x game as a friend of a friend told me. Which im looking forward to as i didnt really get into x games after x2 because i hate repeating myself and it was just the same game with nicer gfx basically so i stopped playing x games as i got alot out of x2 plus due to no them taking cockpits out and internal docking out which made the series unique for me and enjoyed so much.
Cant wait to see the gameplay of the new IP their doing. I do wonder what they will do with the forums and site layout tho due to it not being a x game anymore. Probably a blend imo.
Wonder if its a new engine or not as when making new IP i always think its best company's do engines tailored to the new IP instead of rehashing old ones.
