[X2] Confirmed Undocumented Change/Bug with 1.5 (over 1.4)

I've confirmed that:
Shift + 1, 2, 3, 4 (Monitor Mapping) no longer works with 1.5
The only way I can get it to work is through the menu. I'm happy (more than happy) if I'm wrong.

This worked fine in 1.4, but no longer functions in 1.5 (Superbox).

Tried starting new game
Tried loading included save
Tried loading my 1.4 save

PLEASE fix this, as there's currently no easy way to quickly map separate targets to monitors.

All I have installed is a vanilla 1.5 (Superbox) and the Bonus Pack.

I don't want to discourage you, but as the 1.5 patch wasn't developed for the superbox, but already released at the end of 2007, I don't think that this problem will be fixed.
It might be possible to downgrade to version 1.4, though. So, you might want to back up your 1.4 saves, in case you haven't a game version previous to version 1.5, anymore.

I've already downgraded to 1.4.
What a huge oversight!

Given that the UI and input code was not touched between 1.4 and 1.5 it's fairly unlikely that this really is an issue with the 1.5 patch, and it would take more than just one person reporting it to realistically describe it as "confirmed".

I'm sorry to disagree with you, but I will. Conversely, you could test this yourself.

I've tested it with X4 1.4 from Egosoft
and I've tested it with the Direct2Drive by Enlight (D2D).
It works fine in 1.4.

Clean install of 1.5 (Superbox). Does not work.
Strangely, this works in the TRAINING missions of 1.5 just fine. But if you start a new game it breaks (you do hear the error "buzz" WAV sound though).

Strangely, or not-so strangely, the D2D version (Enlight) 1.4, with the 1.4 Patch from Egosoft (removing copy protection) and then updating with the Egosoft 1.4-1.5 patch crashes the game, so...

Why not try it yourself instead of assuming I don't know what I'm talking about? [/b]

Again, I want to be very very clear.

Install X2 from the Superbox.

Start a training mission.

Target a station.

Hit Shift+1

Maps to Monitor just fine.

Now.

Start a game.

Try it then.

It won't work.

Do the same with 1.4.

It will work as intended.

I promise it's only my curiosity in this dialogue, I'm not trying to be a pain.

It appears that the probem lies in one of the *.dat files (01 - 04 (or 05 if you're in 1.5)).

Now, I must admit, this problem may be a SUPERBOX-only problem.
If that's the case, something got really goofy going from an install from:

CD - 1.4 -> 1.4 Copy Protection Removed -> 1.4-1.5 Patch

and

Superbox 1.5

My guess is the Superbox version has this bug.

Ok, then it's a bug with 1.5

So, CBJ... more changed with 1.5 than just the stats thing I guess.
