Early on in Norman's quest,he did many build missions like these,and I believe it was this that gave him good relations with the Pirates and Yaki.

There is no need for me to continue to list.They are so that you can see some sort of gain financially in doing them.Each mission increases your rep in both trade and race,(or so it seems).

Norman sauntered into the breakfast canteen on board the new Tel EQ Dock.
There was a moments silence and then all returned to normal,except that Derek,Anna and Dermot seemed frozen in the middle of an animated discussion and just sat there looking at him.

"Iv only dey knew 'ow funny dey look." he mused as he grabbed his tray and walked over to them.

They watch him sit down with them and Anna looked straight at him.He looked haggard and tired." Feel better?"asked Anna.

"Enuff ov that! Oi'm back and we are nearly ready to start without running out of credits this toim."He tucked into his meatstake soaked in egg."There's nothing wrong with me that a few hours rest won't put right. 'Ave you two got an announcement to make yet?"

"Well Terry can step into my shoes while were off for shore leave. I am sure there's someone that can fill Anna's until we're back.Of course there will be a spare cabin when we return.We won't need two any more...well not for a while..."

Terry acknowledged that he was fully briefed and ready when needed.

Suddenly there was a large flash from outside,just south west at a lower elevation.

"Control Centre Report " called Norman.

"It's the Teladi,Sir. They have just planted a Quantum Tube Factory just outside our docking lanes Sir. Any orders?"

Norman thought quickly,but his fatique was catching up fast. He looked at Dermot.

Dermot commed control. " Send them a request to warn us next time. Most of us down here have to order more drink and fresh uniforms.We thought the Kka'ak had just dropped in to say hello "

Looking back at Norman he said a bit quieter," probably more than a QTF if Teladi has anything to do with it. It's just too conveniently close to us."

All communications techs were scrambled to tooth - comb the EQ dock for any suspicious additions.
EQ docks were standardised many years ago,so anything out of the ordinary was examined closely.

"They've checked every deck , lift and tube by hand and eye.Where they could not see,they scanned....Norman,either they have become more advanced or the dock is clean",Terry told him.

"Ok.Thank de crew,but tell 'em all te be on de alert.We may not be oidin' anything,but it meks me nervous.It's not as if Oi'm not allowing them te take advantage ov our research,now is it?"With that he retired to his quarters for a well earned rest.

Meanwhile the station crew,construction engineers and techs met together to discuss final preparations.

This time they integrate Teladi tech into the new construction methods.
Norman wanted them to be ready to start when the last drop of or had been delivered to the Hub.He calculated that he should have all the funds he needs for this project and then some.
Only 27k of or left to deliverJust over 7k per trip with TL plus the UTs and NPCs delivering.Should be done soon.

Oi was glad the Ore waz finished an Oi was about te dock an' save me ships data when moi traders at moi Boron complex got attacked boi zum Kha'ak.
Toined round and jumped doon ther.Killed one off,an got paid .Assisted in lowering shields for the rest but Boron claimed 'em.

Norman is a bit upset.He is returning to his Teladi EQ dock.

Two 15y silicon on top of each other. The first blew up.

Now he has to go back to his techs and re-plan the complex.

"nearly two million credits blown away as space dust,not to mention lost future earnins'.An' just as Oi thaght all waz goin smooth."

Terry was listening to Norman but could not understand how two 'roids could occupy the same space.But then again, that is exactly what the new complexes were doing.
"ok Norman.I'll look into this.It might have a bearing on our future experiments."
He went back to his data logs and brought up data from the initial mineral scans,along with camera drone footage.
"It may be my pet study,but the sooner Dermot and Anna get back,the sooner I may get some answers",he thought to himself.

Geeze TTD, I am envious, you sure know a LOT about this game. I am STILL struggling but I'm hanging in there. Someday it'll all click. I have now devoted my computer time to X3 exclusively. I have discovered that hours will pass and it only seems like a few minutes!

Also, I want to get in "one more trade run."

This game is too cool for words. I can get so involved in it I think about it while I'm hiking! LOL

I may know a lot about X... but that is because I Have played since X2 The Threat.
Others have played longer and know more.

But each player has his or her own way of playing,and they discover things that others don't.
I am still learning,even from newer players than myself.

I have used this illustration before,but supposing you took 20 people from different backgrounds and took them to an art exhibition.
Told them to takes notes and do a write up the following day.
You would get 20 different reports each highlighting something that the other 19 did not report on.
Do you follow?

So the more you use the forums and experiment,the more you learn.

I know what you mean. I am at this moment going through all my texts looking for information on how to:

Get a derelict ship and sell it.
Buy a better transport ship and how to swap all the equipment into it.
Learn how to buy a ship and get a sector trader going, I do have the MK3.
Learn how to do plot lines as I have never once seen the book icon.
Memorize what TS, M5 and all those other ship designations mean.
Get a cool ship to shoot with and the weapons and shields to put on it.
And, HOW o do all this!

Included is where all the derelict ships are.

Most of what you need for STs and UTs are at the Terracorp HQ.

Omicron Lyrea will give you two missions.The Terran and Final Fury,Elysium of light will give you the Goner Mission.
There are others of course.

Iam refering to TC for the bluebook missions.They are not in Reunion.And Terrorcorp is not so useful in Reunion either.

TTD, you say you have a joystick. I now have one too. But I am having the most trouble trying to program it. If you have the time could you give a very detailed, step-by-step tutorial on it? I don't know what profile to save it to, I do know to press a button to map it but I am at a loss on how to do the rest. VERY frustrating. I wish someone would provide a VERY detailed walkthrough on doing this.

As this is my thread,I can edit or make a new entry if the previous one is getting too long.
What Carlo means is that you made several entries,one after the other,where you could have just used the edit button to make one entry of the total sum.

Anyone can PM me whenever they wish for general chit chat or problems with their games.

As for a tutorial on using the profile editor in conjunction with the joystick commands....

There are many different joysticks out there.I use an Attack 3 joystick which is just a bit more than basic,(has more than joystick and fire button),but works well with X.

I will consider it,but may put it as a separate post,so that other players with different joysticks can add their two cents worth.
There have been post about joystick use before,so in the meantime
you could try a Google/Egosoft search...

Once again i am refering to TC when buying 2nd hand ships.Look for ships with the credits icon.usualy just after you enter a sector.
Also you can get up to an M6 at shipyards .Once again look for the guy that has a credit icon against his name.Some other stations may also yield good ships like M3s etc

Norman has re-planned his Teladi project.
He was not happy,and was sure the staff on that "spy" station was full of mirth as they saw the two explosions in the distance.

Oh well,he had done pretty well up 'til now.Setbacks are expected in any business.Just will have to try something else next time the problem comes up.Maybe even connecting them quickly may help ,like how he avoids his new complexes from exploding.

He had thought of towing his EQ dock beyond comms range of the "spy" station,but the Teladi could just as easily tow theirs or just plant another station near where he moves to,so he just left it there,but top board meetings were to be held back at his first new-tech complex.And new encryption code was developed for secure messaging.

Time passed and he returned to the R/D2 in Hollow Infinity.
Transfered to the Adv, Eclipse and head to the complex for a meeting with senior staff.
His Finance officer was on the case again

"We had comms from NNMC.They have noted that we are not operating as a fully registered Universal Corporation and refuse any further trade with us until we remedy this situation.
But on a brighter note,it seems we just need to come up with a name for it and register the name.Of course our ledgers will then be open for official scrutiny,but I am sure I can handle the auditors and tax collectors."

"You 'ad me warweed den.So we just a need a name? How about Universal Technologies Incorporated? UTI for short?"

Terry replied that "It does denote what we are doing,but there are other facets to the company.Protection,trading to name but two."

Anna and Dermot were back on the scene as a couple.Anna suggested having the " UTI as a cover name,and having other names for the individual facets of operation.So this part would be UTI Construction.We could have UTI Trading and UTI Navy"

Norman read the pad out loud for all to hear.
"We have considered your request to share your technology with us.We are pleased to inform you that the Emperor Xaar wishes you to use Perpetual Sin.The Unholy Pirates have a base there and also the Khaak,still persist .So your presence there is based on protecting our fleets when we are there.Failure is not acceptable terms of continued use of our space."

He placed the pad on the table and looked around at his group of friends.
"It's a bigger challenge but are you all up for it?"

Eventually the meeting finished and they arranged for the Hoshi to be brought in for sector defence. Mammoth 7 was purchased and rigged out ,bringing with it a Paranid EQ dock for sector base.
First immediate problem was e-cells.None to be found for several sectors.
So this part of the complex had to be built first.
Norman did the 'roid scans.
The Hoshi took it's first Kha'ak cluster in the sector and Norman seized the opportunity to collect a Sting Missile.If he never used it,he could still sell it.
The Pirate base was no problem.Just some of the pirates that used it.
As the split would say "You may find it tricky."

The immediate problem of e-cells was solved by placing some in the EQ dock and setting price to max.
Norman had some UTs nearby ,which quickly offloaded enough e-cells to keep him happy for a while.
