Care and Feeding of the PHQ
So I have this PHQ now, and it's very nice, builds ships, repairs ships, etc.
But.
It has a big appetite for all sorts of stuff.... so.....
How do you guys keep your PHQ's stocked up with everything that it needs?

If you can afford it, buy TL's or (or possibly M1s & M2s) and scrap them there.
Letting the NPC ships stock it by setting best buy prices at average -1 has the disadvantage
that it will probably fill up with one particular ware, when you want a proper balance,
especially if you are trying to build resource hungry ships like the Hyperion.
Some folks use an Equipment Dock or Trading dock or even to hold stuff, because they hold fixed amounts of each ware.
It's a shame that vanilla TC lacks the dockware manager script from Reunion.

If you're using X3:R, use the Dockware Manager in roughly these proportions: 213,345 energy cells. 8889 Ore. 6666 Teladianium. 6666 Silicon. 4444 Rastar Oil. 4444 Microchips. 2222 Cloth Rimes. 2222 Quantum Tubes. 2222 Computer Components. 2222 Mirochips. 2222 Crystals.
Note that the distribution is a little different if you're using the lower Microchip requirements.
If you're using X3:TC you should still use the Dockware Manager, which you can find here.
If you want to put together a self sufficient complex for it then this should do the job.

I use Mistral super-freighters to bring in the big stuff from my complexes, and advanced express's to bring in the small stuff.
I also have a couple of captured Atmospheric Lifters docked at the PHQ to hold any surplus materials.
You can of course set the number of trips the freighters make to avoid overstocking - you don't have to set them for unlimited trips.
I have built several Hyperions as well as some Xenon Ks - but mostly use the PHQ to build Eclipse Prototype's to fill up my Carrier's - I haven't had too many problems with overstocking.

151 Million. Expensive. Replace the Argon station by boron and you are 30 mill cheaper!Targ Collective wrote:

I noticed that says 3*(62 Yield Silicon L Mines). Does that mean it needs 3 separate 62 Yield Silicon roids or 3 roids totaling 62?Targ Collective wrote:If you want to put together a self sufficient complex for it then this should do the job.

Right... Sorry, I'm quite sleep deprived at the moment...

It's only a rough estimate. I designed that complex around Ore Belt, which has two asteriods at 62 and another at 60-61 or so. It probably uses more Silicon and far more Ore than you'll need; however as Ore Belt is such an ore-rich sector you needn't worry too much about it.
Cezarip, I always buy Argon where I can for RP reasons. You're welcome to tweak it as much as you want.
Shaun074, the Dockware commands are activated in the station's Command Console.

I know there is an Unknown Sector with 5 Silicon 'Riods all with a yield of 64. I think there is a 51 Ore 'Riod in the next sector over as well.
