UPDATE: First draft of statistics done! Somebody to get those stats onto the in game ships urgently needed!

OK, i like building ships for X3 games using the old X2 ship part .bod files. so I've decided to turn this interest into a fleet of ships.

The Idea for the ships and the storyline behind them is as follows:

during the kh'aak war, all the races grouped together to form a task force with the objective of performing quick tactical strikes on kh'aak systems and recovering information on a kh'aak homeworld. The Galactic Defence Force was founded, but due to the lack of funding available as the races fleets dwindled due to the never ending kh'aak attacks there was not enough credits to design and build a brand new feet. so the best ship designers were tasked with producing a feet of ships from antique parts. the outcome was quite surprising, although the ships are generally slower than their modern counterparts, they make up for it with more shield & weapon slots, unfortunately due to the antique nature of the hulls the hull integrity is slightly below average.

The ships I intend to design are as follows:

M1 - GDF Battleaxe

Upon starting a new game the player will receive a message saying that they have been chosen to command a GDF carrier and must complete a final test. involving entering a enemy sector (Kh'aak, xennon or pirate) and destroying all ships in the sector. they will then receive co-ordinates for a hidden sector that contains a GDF Battle Carrier (Carrier/Destroyer crossover) loaded with A M3 and an M5 for the player, and a group of M4 Fighters to operate from the carrier.

People I will need to help me in this mod:
A person who can get textures onto G-max models (yes i know I'm using Gmax, but I cant afford 3DS max)
A person who can get sort out the ships in-game weapons and stats and get them in game (I may be able to help with this)
A person who can make the mission

    ive done all i can. it's now over to you to finish the job.

    P.S.if you dont want to actualy do the work, could you please point me to a usefull in-depth tutorial.
