Not in TC, no. They presumably removed that because it would make the "scan X asteroids for me, please" missions somewhat redundant.Schlaffendork wrote:Hi,
Doesn't the explorer software give you 'scan asteroids' as well as the other listed ones? (You need a mineral scanner for this too...)

Yeah,
I usually set a disco with explorer software and mineral scanner off to explore the universe.
I set it to inform when task complete then do the sequence above for each sector.
The disco flys around the sector on it's own and scans all the roids. (in a seemingly random order...)
The scan asteroid command works exactly the same as it did in x3:r. (iirc)

Are you maybe running the Explorer Command Extension script by ThisIsHarsh? I had to install that to get the functionality you're describing. He wrote it since TC doesn't include any automatic asteroid-scan feature.Schlaffendork wrote:Yeah,

As for the Navigation command functions. -- I'll try to find time to verify when I get home from work in a few hours and update the list. When I first wrote it, I had a few ships within transporter range and was swapping software back and forth. I tried to be careful, but now that I've discovered that I can eject software, it's a bit easier

I still haven't acquired a carrier, so Skinmeister's question from 11/24 is still on my to-do list

The commands provided by each of the command software upgrades is listed in the encyclopedia under ship upgrades I think. Doesn't describe what each command does though, but does list commands provided by this extension. Probably only valid for default Egosoft ones too.

Hmph. Were the commands always listed in the encyclopedia or did they add that later? My list isn't completely useless, however since it can be printed and the encyclopedia isn't completely correct (unlike my list
). For example, Fight MK1 enables "Protect Me" and the encyclopedia doesn't list that! Ha! Take that Egosoft! Seriously, I'm going to be going over all the commands and comparing them with the encyclopedia. If I can get all the ship restrictions and the requirements added, then maybe this thing will be somewhat worthwhile...
Apparently they did add Scan Asteroid back in. My enclopedia entry for Special Command Software lists it twice now. I can't tell for certain, though, until I finish installing vanilla TC on our other PC.
@Ormac and VincentTH:
Nav MK2 software doesn't exist, but "Jump to Sector" really is basic to ships with just a jump drive. The other two jump cmds are enabled by Nav MK1

It deploys a satellite network...shireknight wrote:Woah woah back up, what's this mean? :-and the first person who says "it deploys a satellite network" gets a bopDeploy satellite network![]()

I put some nav sats in a buster and started this command. I thought it would drop the ones it had in some predetermined patern around the universe then stop.
It kept on going....
when it had deployed the sats it had on board it went off and bought some more and did most of the universe.
Completly unexpected...

Wow this is great
does this work with Advanced sats as well? if I give a ship some adv sats and it runs out will it keep buying more adv sats or will it buy nav sats instead as they are cheaper?

to list the software upgrades great idea, clevider..
- but some further explanation would help both new and old players of X3:TC, alike..
- for example:
Supply Command Software
{Special}
-Resupply Ships
-Rearm Ships
-Refuel Ships
-Equip Ships Like...
- even a brief explanation of these functions would help a great deal
- the official manual is vague, to say the least..
