Sector Planner

As far as I can see there is only one for X2. Does it also work for X3 / is one available for X3?

Cheers,

Sector Planner worked on the basis that the universe was static. This is not the case in X³ - factories get built, get taken down and destroyed. The only way would be for the SP to read the user's savegame to get the current state of the universe.

The nearest alternative would be the complex calculators.

The last incarnation of LordSuch's SectorPlanner did read the current game state via a script,
so it should cope with GoD.
I think the big problem was more to do with computation of player factory
complexes i.e. afaik : no script can determine certain necessary internal details of
player complexes, so it is not possible to correlate all the 'sector' input / outputs
- in X2 it was simpler (no complexes).

Firstly thanks very much for providing the link. As to the comment immediately above does that render it useless, or reduce its usefulness? I'm definitely interested in seeing what I can get out of it......

It's still pretty useful.

Complexes are shown broken down into separate stations, so the supply/demand calculations will still work.

Looks like there's been an update since I last looked - v1.3 (July 07 - he kept that quiet).

This is a whole lot better than previous versions in terms of accuracy & usefulness,
this should be stickied, the Guides sticky link is only for the X2 version.
I'll post there now.

It's a shame it doesn't cope with modified universe maps ot Ashleys XXL factories,
but for vanilla X3 this is as good as the original was for X2,
i.e. pretty much absolutely essential for best X-universe economy design.

Yep, just got it working and imported my universe. It looks excellent and really, really useful.

Glad I asked the question :-).

Now, about that XL Solar Power Plant. Market research says YES!

PS. Bloody glad I got this working, bought a new iPhone today and because my bank isn't talking to O2 I can't get the damn thing working. New toy and I want to play with it! X3 will suffice :-).
