Hey, just writing to say thank you so much for this script. Not only does it work very well it also does something else, which is to make the game feal more real. It's good to have hired crews. Shame they can't be named as individuals but that's not a problem. The addition of the crews to ships on patrol... especially m6's on multi sector is fantastic. You know they're getting paid individually which makes it feal like it's a group of people eg: PM6 Multisector: 1 pilot + 6 Crew members... and when you're in sector they stand a much better chance against large Khaak clusters, which they didn't before... anyway, sorry about the long rant and THANK YOU! Merry X-mass and a happy new year

I just updated from the first all-in-one package right to the 1.02.00 and opened my save game to find my Titan droped to 73 personel, is anyone else still getting this? I reinstalled the game and put in the old bonus pack till this is fixed.
Edit: I just tryed it again with the new pack and it is letting me get more, but I still don't know why I lost them.

Not readily.
You'd have to alter the ware slot the script uses, remove the old wares from your game, and install the new.
Not easy to do unless you're familiar with the script editor.
A much more palatable solution, if you can't stomach the price, is to just script yourself some extra cash.
There are plenty of unsigned scripts that can do this.

Again, if you'd like to cheat, the easiest way is to just script yourself some extra personnel.
will do the trick nicely. Run the script in the script editor and target your ship. They'll be there waiting for you.
Cheers.
Code: Select all
= [THIS] -> install 60 units of Military Personnel
Cheers.

Actually one of the later additions ('fixes') to the script was to make more crew generally available and to keep them in the station for a bit longer to be picked up. (not the other way around)
You might just be getting unlucky. It is random how the crew are alloted.
Keep at it.
Cheers.

I just came back to X2 after a long hyatus, and really like the Aegis system. However I have the following observations: (I have read all 24 pages of this thread, but may miss something that have been discussed here before:)
- Getting the crew is kind of hard and tedious. It took me 2 days (6 hours) and did not become easy until I bought an Equipment Dock. I then hit the jackpot with a lot of 99 MPs in Power Circle (only got 98 actually, saw 99 in the trading menu, but can actually bought 98, as one just dropped out real fast
).
- I think the author of the script may have performance in mind. With the AEGIS system active, the monitors in PRO mode are now automatically disconnected, once I jump to the Khaak sector (works fine in regular race sectors. Dunno why).
- I use the Capture option, and really dont like it. I have a Titan, fully loaded, fully crewed, and took an assassination mission in Thuruks Pride. Went after the Phoenix in Capture mode (by mistake) and died in just 10 secs. Reload, switch to Action Station modes on all turrets, and killed the Phoenix in 10 secs. Switched to Capture mode, and went after the escorts. My Titan died from shots of a single Osprey (the other 3 escorts were behind the junmp gate) in just 15 secs. LOL
- I wish there is a quick command that would turn ALL turrets from one mode to another (AttackAllenmies, Aegis: Capture, Aegis: Action Station). Currently I have to do the switch of all 5 turrets one by one, which is hard when you are in the middle of combat.
But overall, I like it. Guess I need to watch the video that Reven made, as my Odysseus and Titan (one ship at a time) die in Solo combat rather quickly in Khaak sectors (against solo Khaak destroyers.

Umm no you don't... - When you goto the command consol, use the "Command for all turrets" and that switches them all at onceVincentTH wrote:Currently I have to do the switch of all 5 turrets one by one, which is hard when you are in the middle of combat.

Now i don't know if this has been asked before, but i finaly did some assasination mission, and finaly started to earn some real credits, now i finaly have enough for my fist equipment dock, there in the new advanced station command i notice a new command that is very handy, to find out where those TP's are flying arround, now my question is do i have to pay for that too ????

90 total, which is 30 support plus 10 per turret (although the .pdf readme in the version I downloaded erroneously says 50 support, don't know if that's been fixed in a later update)
So you'd have just under enough for 3 turrets.
Unless there's something you desperately need in a newer bonus pack, I'd get the extra crew first (assuming you have a spare M2 to house them in so they don't disappear) and THEN upgrade.
Or, as a cheaty way,

copy out the plugin.guncrews.crewbasic.xml and ...crewturret.xml files from the script directory, upgrade your scripts, then copy them back in. As they are signed scripts, you shouldn't get the modified tag (tho I may be wrong)
