Universal Tensions

Post by Tecnofreak »

This is story about a post khaak M0 x-universe concerning the characters we know and umm... love.

Chapter 1: The fall

He stood, staring at the brand new Nova. He hardened his mind to the sobering thoughts his mission left. He was being paid a lot... an awful lot! He mulled over if it was worth it; then again what choice did he have? The 'Contractor' would kill him if he failed and survived or if he neglected his task.

<Incomming Transmission> grated a male voice.
"Play it," he mumbled.
"Our agreement is settled, 20 million credits are in your account, 40 more are ready for transfer upon sucessful completion. Your ship is ready and your to keep if you want, it has all the extensions you requested and is armed with the prototype 'Eliminator' missile. You have only 3, I suggest you use them wisely. We thank you for your assistance in this matter... you are clear to go. Good luck, do not fail us!"
<Transmission End>

Twenty mizuras later a craft was seen leaving the pirate anarchy port in one of the more dangerous areas of space. In a flash it was gone.

Ban Danna was reclining in his office aboard the Argon One when a Priority Alpha Red message blared into existance on the holo monitor. "Captain Dana get yourself down to Argon Prime now, the senate is in termoil and needs a firm military hand to tell them what to do!"
"Admiral Shentai, slow down whats going on?"
The woman's image sighed and gave him a brief overview of the senates innaction and lack of knowledge over the remaining Khaak forces. "Please Ban; we need you." Her face softened and days of sleeplessness broke through her diplomatic fascade.
"Alright Catherine... I'm on my way, I'll bring Seldon as he has the best knowledge on their ships. Is Elena Kho down there?
"She's waiting for you so she can present her data."
"Give me 5 mizuras."

The Nova arrived through the east gate of Argon prime and charged its engines to the full 163 m/s. The pilot set course just south of the argon one on a docking vector with the Free Argon Trading Station.

"We're ready for lauch Captain the TP is waiting for your to board."
"I know Pilot, I'm boarding now" Ban Danna closed the hatch and walked up to the cabin where the pilot and Leutenant Seldon were waiting.

<Alert: docking bay doors opening, area depressurisation in process, please evacuate immediately> Betty, the shipboard computer, was in her usual verbose nature; always a good sign.
<Releasing docking clamps, please innitiate engines and prepare for lauanch... Docking clamps released, have a pleasant trip>

Thud!
"What the..."
Thud!
<ALERT: Missile Closing>
<ALERT: Missile Closing>
<ALERT: Missile Closing>
<ALERT: Missile Closing>
"Hard to port bring us about and out of the fire!" roared Ban Danna. But the shots wern't aimed at them, they were for the Argon One. Several more thuds could be heard and muffled alarms from the open docking bay were expressing their emotionless alarm at the attack.
<Onehundred twentyfive Megawatt shield damaged, Beta PPC Damaged, Hull stress elevated> The acting captain of Argon One could only gape in horror as the computer continuosly reeled of damage reports.

The Nova continued to pummell the the Destroyer with modified Beta Hepts and Hornet missiles. <Incoming Transmission Sir> Stated a male computerised voice.
"On."
"This is the Argon One, Cease Fire or face immediate destruction, you will..."
"End!"

<Critical Warning, Sheilds are down>
"Ban Danna to Argon One, I noticed your Gravidar is down, The attacker is at co-ordinates 12:9:67. We are moving to intercept."
"Negative Sir, get yourself out of here you can't take that kind of dam..."

The pilot of the attacking Nova could see the Argon reinforcements closing in and desided it was now or never.

<Warning missile cl...>
Explosions ripped through the hull of the great destroyer, its engines started to overburn starting a core overload. More explosions ripped up from the engines, Ban watched in sheer horror as his ship was turn apart to expose entire decks to the cold, hard vacuum. Boddies could be seen in distorted forms floating through the abyss. Ban turned away and let a tear form and fall.

The last two missiles were fired and complete the destruction... The pilot felt sick inside at what he'd done. He ordered the computer to overburn the engines until they reached the neraest jumpgate then innitiate a jump to the pirate sectors. Upon checking his bank account he found a substancial increase in the millions it had available. He still felt sick. Very sick.

Chapter two soon.
Sometimes a smile is all it takes to cheer a person. A hug does ten times more. But a laugh... that can change the world...
