Dear people,
After a break for like more than a year I though 'Lets try this good ol game again', I did some updates, and some decent upgrades to the hardware in the meantime.
So after playing for 10 mins the screen freezes, BUT, I still hear the game sounds and ships flying by, AND, when I jump I still actually hear my guy jumping.
pressing esc seems to mute the sound indicating the menu, pressing again, ingame sound again. In the end I discovered I could quicksave, but not quickload.
I have some mods, a few extra buildings, nothing really special or like 'a lot'..
In the end I discovered when I set graphical settings to 'low' it stopped happening.....so here is the thing:
I have the newest drivers (GPU chipset, bios, all of it)
The hardware isn't that bad (I7 14700KF, 5070TI, 64GB RAM)
ALL the dozens of graphical games I have run fine
I dont have overheating
When X4 runs on Ultra it runs great.......
But at random point the screen just freezes and in the background you still hear the game running like nothing happened.
Windows controls still work fine, but I can't even close the game, need to go to steam and press 'stop'
I hope anyone has any ideas, ty!
one more thing that might be importaint....this savegame is ancient, like, just after X4 came out (and it's the only one I'll ever play ^^)

We're not going to be able to make any suggestions without any information to work with. The forum rules, which appear at the top of the forum and again right in front of you when you click on the button to make a new post, tell you what information we will need and include links to wiki pages which explain how to do so if you're not sure.
