Version:
Vanilla 9.0
All DLC except Hyperion and Envoy
Budgeted Custom Start
Issue:
The sector map for Black Hole Sun IV has become permanently zoomed out. Even at maximum zoom, the playable area occupies only a small portion of the screen, making it difficult to select ships, stations, and issue orders. This issue only affects Black Hole Sun IV. All other sectors display normally.
Expected Behavior:
The sector map should scale to the explored and navigable area of the sector, allowing normal zoom levels for issuing orders and managing assets.
Actual Behavior:
The Black Hole Sun IV map remains significantly larger than the fog of war hex area. The map appears offset toward the southeast, and even at maximum zoom, the playable area remains compressed.
Troubleshooting Performed:
To determine whether this was intended behavior, I attempted the following:
Restarted the game and reloaded the save.
Deleted and reinstalled the game.
Confirmed the issue only affects Black Hole Sun IV.
Sent multiple scouts to explore in several directions.
Flew beyond the edge of the explored fog of war.
Used Long Range Scan in deep space near the extended area.
Searched for Kha'ak structures and other distant objects.
The explorable fog of war hex works normally, but Explore commands now immediately end once scouts reach their destination beyond the fog of war hex. Long Range Scan has not revealed any stations or structures beyond that point.
I have found a Kha'ak Installation within the sector, but I have not located a Hive despite extensive searching.
One additional observation is that when ships travel further out, the map temporarily expands even farther before returning to its current oversized state.
Impact:
This has become a gameplay issue, as the map can no longer be zoomed in sufficiently to effectively manage ships or issue orders within Black Hole Sun IV.

Similar type of issue thread here and with further links [#4984].
