Hello
I dont know how to clearly explain this but since I think 8.0 I experience delays in game but those got far worse on 9.0 so I really want to address it and hopefully find a solution to it.
This go from loading shaders in "build map" or loading everything in when opening universe map.
But the worst delay is when I have an incoming message.
The window opens and I just see the snow on that screen.
Only after a long while they start to speak, and worst thing of this issue is that you can't safe when that comms window is open.
Now I wonder if my system specs are still good enough or should I change settings ingame.
I do use an SSD hard drive where my game is installed on so I expect it to work fast enough.

Re: long delays loading things
Your system meets the minimum requirements for the game, but only by a small margin. It doesn't meet the recommended. While your CPU will probably be the limiting factor for general game performance, I suspect that the limiting factor for the specific cases you're talking about may be the amount of VRAM on your GPU. The game can run with 4GB, but it will require quite a lot of swapping in and out of date to achieve that, which is probably what's causing the delays you're seeing. Note that only dedicated GPU memory counts here; shared memory is not really very helpful, partly because it's slower and partly because the game will be using a lot of system memory for other things.
You may be able to squeeze a bit more performance out of your system by turning shadows and volumetric fog right down. This will also reduce GPU memory consumption a bit and may mean less swapping of data. Give it a try and let us know whether it helps.

Re: long delays loading things
Adding to what CBJ said there are also three other areas on your system that you might be able to improve stability and performance:
1. You have Nvidia and onboard sound devices and drivers going at the same time. If you keep the onboard sound then get the latest Realtek driver for your sound chipset rather than that old and generic Microsoft driver.
2. Depending upon what drive(s) your pagefile/swapfile is allocated to, you may be running out of free drive space for it.
3. Your Windows Error Reports cover many different apps and updates but there are two for BackgroundDownload.exe which is a Visual Studio Updater app that is suspected to hog system resources even when working properly.
Good luck.

Hello
Thank you for you input.
I lately got your email regarding the new vulcan changes.
And im started to wonder.
I been looking around for videocard but I know that my knowledge around this isn't that good and you can get them in all price classes.
Thats why I wanted to ask.
Do you have any recommendations of an nvidea video card that gives good performance in this game?

Discussion of hardware recommendations is not a Tech Support issue. Please head over to the Off Topic forum for that.
