SEWN

Post by Ektufall »

Hi!

Do any of you use it?
If you do what are your optimal setup (Satelite amount, detection type , profile setup, scout amount to replave satelites) ?

Also I would like to know:
Does Discovery points on network arr collected automaticly?
Does enabling detection of enemy ships influence at all ships destination choice on multi sector patrol? (if you have sewn satelites in does sectors)

I don't know the answers to all of these questions, but I do use the SEWN. I generally have two profiles:
A default which detects claimable ships, but doesn't detect enemy ships,
A second for sectors where I have factories running TLs. This one detects all enemy ships for hostile races which send out raiding parties (Pirates, Yaki, Xenon).

Sometimes I send out 4 ships deploying Advanced Satellites in the NW, NE, SW, SE at about 7 grid-tiles away from map center. This gives pretty good coverage for most sectors.
Sometimes, instead or in addition, I send a single ship deploying a satellite to Y=100km Z=100km. Noting is within range there, but enemies don't destroy them and they will still do best-buy and alert to claimable ships when within range of one of my other ships.

I think discovery points are only earned by the player ship.
I have never noticed satelites have any effect on patrols.
