Information Regarding the Forum Security Incident

Hello everyone,

As we briefly mentioned earlier today on our Discord server and in posts on Reddit and the Steam forums, an unauthorized party gained short-term access to an administrative account on our forum last night. This access was used to send an unauthorized automated email to a portion of our users.
As you may have noticed today, we immediately placed the forum into maintenance mode to thoroughly investigate the situation.

Here is an update on our findings:

Data Security & Integrity
There is no evidence that any personal data was stolen or downloaded. The incident was strictly limited to triggering the forum's internal mass-mailing feature, meaning your data remained secure within our system.

Regulatory Reporting Completed
Following our internal review, we have already completed all necessary documentation and filed the official regulatory notifications with the local data protection authorities, fully satisfying our compliance obligations.

Security Updates & Recommendation
The forum has been successfully updated with the latest security patches, and all active sessions have been reset to ensure the system is entirely secure.
Even though your passwords are encrypted in our database and there is no sign of any data theft, we generally recommend that you change your passwords regularly.

Clarification on the Email Content
Our development focus remains entirely on X4: Foundations. We still have extensive plans and upcoming content for X4, and we will share details on those next steps when the time is right.
