Hi all
I have a Trade Command Software MK3 LV25 pilot I'd like to transfer to a new ship now as I understand it both ships need to be in the same sector and the ship that has the Trade Command Software MK3 also needs to have the Special Command Software and then I go to the Special Command menu and select transfer pilot.
Problem is there is no such command thinking maybe the bonus pack didn’t install properly I closed the game and reinstalled the bonus pack again.
I loaded up the game sent both ships into space in the same sector went to the Special Command menu on the ship that has the Trade Command Software MK3 and yet again there is no command to transfer pilot, my next though was that maybe there was an issue with the installation of the game so I uninstalled the bonus pack and the game then reinstalled the game patched back to 1.4 installed the artificial life update as well as the no copy protection update and then finally reinstalled the bonus pack choosing only the trade command mk3 and the advanced trade command software I then reloaded the game but again there is no option to transfer pilot
What gives I'm running x2 v1.4 and I have the latest version of the x2 bonus package v1.04.01 so why is there no option to move the pilot?
[edit]
looking in to this some more it seems I can invoke move pilot via the script editor but for some reason the move pilot command just isn't showing up under the special command menu so I'm wondering if this might be a bug with the Bonus pack perhaps when they modified things they accidentally removed the line that makes the command show up on the special command menu because I don't see the move pilot command on ships equipped with the advanced trade software either.

Re: X2 move trade command mk3 pilot missing
If I remember correctly, BOTH ships have to have the Mk3 software installed. One ship must be docked, and the other must not be docked, but stay in space close to the same station. You give the transfer command to the docked ship and select the non-docked ship. Then the other ship will dock and transfer the pilot.Cursed Ghost wrote: Thu, 23. Apr 26, 18:59 Hi all

Incorrect if you install the Trade Command Software MK3 from the bonus pack activate the script editor and open setup.plugin.autotrade.xml then scroll down a bit you will find the following lines have been commented out disabling that code.If I remember correctly, BOTH ships have to have the Mk3 software installed.
Code: Select all
030 *set script command upgrade: command=COMMAND_SIGN_MOVE_PILOT upgrade=Special Command Software MK1
031 *global script map: set: key=COMMAND_SIGN_MOVE_PILOT, class=Ship, race=Player, script='plugin.autotrade.movepilot.start', prio=0
033 *Do not activate this, children. Would spoil your fun. Believe us.
034 *set script command upgrade: command=COMMAND_SIGN_DELIVERY_SERVICE upgrade=Special Command Software MK1
035 *global script map: set: key=COMMAND_SIGN_DELIVERY_SERVICE, class=Ship, race=Player, script=lib.bm.delivery.wares, prio=0I'm actually curious why Ego did this they must of had some reason for it?
Note however that if you reactivate the the move pilot command like I did then any ship equipped with the Special Command Software MK1 will see the move pilot command, ideally the move pilot command should only appear on ships that have both the Trade Command Software MK3 and the Special Command Software MK1 installed but unfortunately due to a limitation of the script editor in X2 its not possible to set multiple dependences as far as I'm aware.
Perhaps the smarter way to handle this situation would be to just change the dependency from Special Command Software MK1 to Trade Command Software MK3 this would make it so only ships equipped with Trade Command Software MK3 would see the transfer pilot command although in all likelihood this would move the transfer pilot command to the trade menu it could also cause its own issues since the Advanced Trade Command Software uses the same script to transfer pilots which would mean that the Advanced Trade Command Software would lose the ability to transfer pilots unless you created a move pilot script for the Advanced Trade Command Software as well although I'm still a noob when it comes to the script editor so I don't know maybe there is a way round that.
As for how you actually do a pilot transfer it works like this
1.) Both the ship that has the Trade Command Software MK3 and the ship you want to transfer the pilot to should be in space preferably in the same sector to prevent accidents, both ships need to be in space because its not possible to select a docked ship another limitation of the script editor in X2
2.) The ship with the Trade Command Software MK3 should also have the Special Command Software MK1 equipped or the transfer pilot command wont be available on that ship.
3.) Select the ship with the Trade Command Software MK3 and Special Command Software MK1 and go to the Special Menu and select transfer pilot to activate the transfer process.
4.) You will then be asked to select a sector so select the sector your ships are in, you will then be asked to select a ship so select the ship that has the Trade Command Software MK3
5.) You will then be asked to select a sector again so select the sector your ships are in, you will then be asked to select a ship again so this time select the ship you want to transfer the pilot to,
6.) You will again be asked to select a sector so again select the sector your ships are in, you will then be asked to select a station for your ships to meet at so select a station.
7.) Wait for both ships to land and for the transfer to be completed you will know if everything has worked correctly because several things will have occurred.
First the name of the ships pilot will have changed from Julian to the name of the MK3 trader pilot.
Second the name of the ships will have changed, although when I reactivated the transfer pilot command I actually disabled this because I find it annoying.
Third some of the ships equipment from the old ship will have moved with the pilot to the new ship namely Shields, Fighter Drones, Navigation Command Software MK1, Fight Command Software MK1, Fight Command Software MK2, Jump Drive, Trade Command Software MK3 but again when I reactivated the transfer pilot command I actually disabled this because I find it to be more of a nuisance than a help, since it doesn't transfer all equipment and I end up having to transfer the rest manually anyway its better if it doesn’t transfer anything, plus it prevents the possibility of equipment being overwritten if the ship I'm transferring to already has some equipment installed.
I also disabled the requirement to equip Fight Command Software MK1, Fight Command Software MK2 as a pre request for using the Universe Trader command because Universe Traders are allowed to operate without a weapon equipped therefore if there is no weapon equipped then there is no need to equip Fight Command Software either.
8.) With the transfer complete it's just a case of reactivating your trader by selecting either the sector trader or universe trader command once you do you will see that the pilots experience reappears next to the pilots name, you should probably rename your ships accordingly as well unless like me you disabled the part of the script that messes with ships names.
It should also be noted that all of this only applies to X2 things are a bit different in X3 though to the best of my knowledge the transfer pilot command works more or less the same way in X3 as it does in X2 although it dosn't mess with ships names nor does it transfer equipment as far as I'm aware id have to check.
