Hi All,
I am incredibly frustrated. I bought the base game a few weeks ago and it ran perfectly on my old PC (9 year old spec) and I was starting to get into to. Fast forward to a week ago and I updated my PC with a brand new 9070 Sapphire system with all the usual specs. 32gb ram, 2tb ssd etc. etc. And now the game has been installed and reinstalled twice and just hangs everytime I try to run it from steam.
I have gone through this forum and done things such as:
Verified game files from steam multiple times
Have let it run for a whole hour in case of shading or hidden updates and nothing changes
System is brand new and AMD drivers are all fully up to date
DX12 installed and fully updated
c++ x64 and x86 installed and fully updated
dxdiag - no errors found anywhere
run as administrator
open windowed
I have tried to remove all files as read me but cannot seem to make that stick and have tried to force this through cmd but still no luck?
Added all files relating to the game as exempt from windows defender
Interestingly, even when I close it from steam, completely exit steam and restart steam the game still shows as running even after i close it or ctrl/alt/delete force it to shut down and it crashes my task manager after doing this
Can someone please give me some guidance here as I have been trying for a week and I am incredibly annoyed

While we understand your frustration, we can't really help you with so little information. The forum rules, which appear at the top of the forum and again when you click on New Topic, tell you the information we would need in order to be able to help you, and also provide links to instructions on how to provide that information.
In particular we need your DXDiag and vulkaninfo, what version you're trying to run (the current released one or the public beta), your settings, and whether or not your game was modded before you changed PCs.

Apologies, I did not see that.
I am running base game with no mods now and had no mods on my previous PC either.
Dxdiag and vulkaninfo are here: https://filebin.net/v37c7nh8e1i7ejp1

Re: Game Hanging From Steam
Firstly make sure the game is being directed to your dedicated graphics card and not trying to use the integrated graphics.
Your Ryzen integrated AMD graphics driver is quite dated compared to the RX 9070 one and so the Vulkan versions will be quite different. Despite hopefully not using the integrated device for X4, the two devices need similar Vulkan versions to talk to each other correctly.
Your Windows Error Reports are either with DarkOrbit.exe or AppTermFailureEvent. The latter issues have no further source details in Windows Error Reporting, which is troubling and not very helpful in narrowing down the problem:
"An AppTermFailureEvent in Windows 11 typically indicates that an application terminated unexpectedly, often due to software conflicts, driver issues, or resource limitations. This is similar to an APPCRASH event in Windows Error Reporting."

Re: Game Hanging From Steam
Yes I have selected my dedicated GPU for the game and all my gpu drivers are fully up-to-date.
This is incredibly frustrating and for a game that has been out for a while I am disappointed it is not plug and play for a new system on the base game installation.
The 2 gpu's are using apiVersion = 1.4.315 (4211003) & apiVersion = 1.4.344 (4211032) respectively, are these too far apart?
I definitely do not have limited resources to run the game so it must be driver issues or software conflict? The latter is unlikely as I have almost nothing installed yet on this PC and just running Windows 11 Professional

Re: Game Hanging From Steam
Well it's certainly not something that's happening for other people generally, and as far as I'm aware you do seem to be the only person encountering it.
Have you tried using Alt-Tab while the game is hanging in case there is a hidden message window telling you what the problem is, either from the game or from something external such as your anti-virus? You could also try disabling your anti-virus, or alternatively excluding the game folders (the install folder and the one where files are created) from its scanning.
Edit: Didn't see your last message. Glad to hear it's resolved.
