Station management tutorial

Hi guys. I’m not sure if I am posting in the right place or not, so, if I’m not, please forgive me.
I spent a few hours last night trying to complete the in game tutorial, station management. I get as far as hiring a manager for the silicon refinery I think it was from memory. I then go to set the mining ship to mine the silicon for the solar array or whatever it’s called, sorry again, I’m not in front of the game right now .
It does its mining thing, but I can’t seem to assign it, I have to do it manually and get it to dock and trade the silicon. When I do that, the tutorial still tells me to do what needs to be done. So it’s not registering. So, this is where I spent the few hours, in trying “trade with” and “trade wares with”, with both the solar array and the silicon refinery. Seems I’m at a loss as to what to do. Either I’m missing something here and the instructions are not very clear and specific or there is a bug preventing me from moving forward in this one tutorial.
I have completed all the other tutorials. A couple of the I had to do a couple of times because I didn’t understand something and then got it. But this one has beaten me to the point I need help.
Hope someone can shed some light on this,and help me get past it, and that it’s something simple I’m missing and not a big. Thanks people

I don't know about the tutorial but this is how it is supposed to work:

If your station requires a raw resource and has storage for it, select your appropriate (gas/mineral) mining ship(s) on the universe map. Then right click on your station (whether from the map or property list) and there should be an option to mine for the station in the popup menu. Make sure their cargo hold is empty before you do this.

This will change the default behaviour of the ship(s) to act as a subordinate of the station and mine for it. The effective mining range from the station is based on the skill of the manager (which will slowly level up). Hope this helps!

Рискну предложить Вам свой способ обеспечения любой Вашей станции добываемыми ресурсами.

Однако прежде чем начать описание хочу напомнить Вам, что для того, чтобы добывающий корабль начал трудиться на своего "Командира" - нужно, таки, чтобы было чего добывать в пределах, ограниченных дальностью от Вашей станции (при максимальном опыте капитана - не более чем в 5м секторе от станции). Для этого необходимо исследовать соответствующие секторы (самостоятельно или с помощью команды другому кораблю) и (или) расставить в богатых ресурсами (в промышленных объемах) зонах (они выделены на карте цветом) "ИССЛЕДОВАТЕЛЬСКИЕ ЗОНДЫ". Таким образом если ваша станция расположена вдали >5 секторов от необходимого ресурса или секторы с ресурсами не исследованы, то Ваши "Добытчики" в лучшем случае будут сообщать Вам, что они ничего не нашли и "задание по умолчанию не выполнено". Поэтому, для прямой добычи с помощью команды: "Добывать для командира" потрудитесь определить сперва место - где Вы установите Вашу станцию, согласно описанным выше условиям дальности добычи и наличия ресурсов!
Этот способ, по моему мнению, совершенно не удобен, хотя в исключительных случаях (наличие доступных ресурсов) вполне исправно работает.

Что же касается обучающего квеста - это задание существует и выдается всего лишь для понимания задач и тренировки Ваших навыков и совершенно не обязательно к выполнению. Если Вы действительно хотите выполнить ЭТОТ квест, попробуйте все-таки догадаться чего от Вас требуется или поищите в описаниях миссий от игроков.
Как по мне - я не стал бы выполнять такое задание, что я в свое время и сделал, найдя альтернативное понимание процесса.

Должен оговориться, что способ «Удаленного снабжения» с помощью "Добывающих терминалов", дорог в организации и несколько рискован в зависимости от опасности маршрутов доставки (впрочем, риск потерять корабль снабжения - гораздо меньше, чем потерять любой добывающий корабль), зато подходит для достаточного и быстрого снабжения любого количества, любых Ваших станций, от самых маленьких - до огромных монстров, расположенных на любом удалении от места добычи.

Простите за банальный вопрос. Вы, таки, наняли менеджера на вашу станцию? Если нет, то откройте информацию по любому Вашему кораблю -> Экипаж, выберите любого члена экипажа (лучше если это будет член обслуживающего персонала или десантник) и задайте ему новое место работы. [Выберите из выпадающего меню "Поработайте на меня в другом месте" -> выберите правой клавишей мыши Вашу станцию -> из выпадающего меню выберите "менеджер"] на Вашей станции в качестве Менеджера....

Hi,
yeah, i did hire a manager, as stated in original post. Im putting it down to being a bug, unless someone else knows whats going on. Ive tried everything. Assigning the miner to one of the stations, that didnt work so tried the other station and that didnt work. It has me beat right now
