I've placed satellites down near several different stations, well within their range (and yes vertically as well), and their inventory as well as incoming and outgoing trades just show up as "???" for me. Do satellites not mormally show a stations inventory? I'm trying to figure out what certain stations are short on so I can supply them.

Please provide the information requested in the forum rules which appear at the top of the forum, and again when you click on new topic. We cannot diagnose what's happening from a screenshot, especially one we can't see, so please make sure that you include a link to a savegame showing the situation you're describing.
