Hi everyone,
I finally got back into X4 a few weeks ago, but now I'm experiencing lag that I didn't have before, mainly in the station editor.
To put it simply, I can use the arrow keys and the mouse zoom in/out without any problems, but I find it very very difficult to use the right click for rotation...
Just to clarify : I last played about a year ago without any issues, even though I was using an old configuration (GTX 1080 GAMING X 8G graphics card).
For your information, I have all the DLCs and I mainly play with the Star Wars ‘Interworlds’ mod.
Not knowing whether it was caused by one of the DLCs, the graphics settings, or one of the mods, I tried the following:
_ I set all the graphics to minimum and disabled everything I could (shadows, brightness, etc.) : same problem !
_ I disabled all the mods (which had been working fine until then), restarted the game, and loaded an old save file that I had kept before adding any mods : same result, even when testing on a tiny station !
_ I disabled the latest DLC (Timelines) and restarted my old save file : same result !
_ I disabled the penultimate DLC (Kingdom End) : same phenomenon !!
I was advised to:
_ Disable the DLSS option : my graphics card is too old, so I don't have this option in the ‘display settings’ menu.
(in doubt I checked the registry, I can't find the corresponding line in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\...........\NGXCore either)
_ Check the integrity of the game files : done.
_ Re-download my graphics card driver : I had a driver waiting, so I installed it.
I restarted the game by starting a new custom game (the ‘InterWorlds’ mod allows you to start with stations), so I started with 1 mini station and a single ship so as not to ‘overload’ the game : still the same thing, impossible to use the right mouse button for rotation, or almost impossible ... !
So, to sum up, I don't think the problem is caused by the DLC or the few mods I've added... could the latest game updates have made it even more "resource-intensive" than before ?
If so, is it dead with my old configuration ?
Thanks.
Back ... with an unexpected lag

Re: Back ... with an unexpected lag
Please provide the information requested in the very first thread at the top of the forum. We're not going to be able to answer questions about your system if you don't provide a DXDiag and vulkaninfo so that we can see what that system is.
And with regards to the mods you've installed, the assumption that they are not causing performance issues is not a good one. Unless you can reproduce the problem without them, we will have to assume they are responsible.
