CPU and SSD recommendations for playing X4

Post by OldyGoldy »

Good afternoon.
Please tell me which one CPU is best for X4: 9950X or 9950X3D.
I read the forum and realized that the processor might be more important than the graphics card in this game.
(I currently have a 7 700 + 9070XT)
Second question:
Does the PCIE version of my SSD matter for performance in this game?
I currently have a PCIe 4.0 SSD installed. Should I upgrade to a 5.0 SSD?
Sorry, English isn't my native language; this is Google Translate.
Also, I apologize if I posted in the wrong forum thread.

Moved from an unrelated Tech Sp thread as OT is the place for hardware discussions.

At the risk of invoking the ire of a moderator, off-topic does not seem the correct place for a discussion of which hardware is good for running X4. The general forum, or tech support forum, both seem like they would be an appropriate place to discuss it, as long as it is discussing X4 specifically.

Not ire but just experience. Hardware discussions tend to devolve into discussion of players' supplier preferences such as AMD vs Intel, AMD vs Nvidia, Samsung vs Crucial, etc and often end having very little to do with the game in question. This thread could just as well be titled ' .. for using a cpu stress-inducing application.'

One would assume that all readers in Egosoft EN Off Topic have at least some experience of X games or they probably would not be looking there.

Yes, CPU is more important than the GPU in X4.
The larger cache of X3D models is probably an advantage.

No. Disk access is not a bottleneck.
Overall, one might not notice difference in most uses most uses.
