Required Information in all Technical Support Requests

Failure to provide all this information will make it pretty much impossible for people to help you and may mean that it takes longer for your problem to be identified and hopefully solved. So please don't waste your own time and everyone else's by just posting something like "My game freezes. Help!!!".

If you are supplying information that will not conveniently fit into posts in this forum (approx 70,000 character limit per post), in the worst case you can split long text files across 2 consecutive posts, or ideally you can upload the data to a reputable public fileshare site (a few examples are Google Drive, DropBox or PasteBin, etc) but please don't use sites that spam advertising or require registration for downloads. Please use in your post the open public sharing link to your file(s) that will not require any account or registration for others to download.

Note: Support for third party modifications must be provided by the authors of those modifications, and any requests for such support should be posted in the appropriate thread in the Scripts and Modding forum.

There is a longstanding bug with the amounts the station indicates it needs for building a station. Here is a save game with step by step instructions to reproduce it. Really a save game is not necessary, but I am providing one just to make it easier for the devs.

1. On the build plot I purchased in Argon Prime, place a 3M6S luxury dock and energy cell production (the specific modules are not important, they can be anything really), and confirm the station. The plan build screen indicates it needs 340 claytronics, 681 energy cells, 1245 hull parts.

2. Exit the plan build screen, right click on the station plot and select "Trade Offers Build Storage", and confirm that the station has a buy offer for 340 claytronics, 681 energy cells, 1245 hull parts.

3. Enter the Plan Build screen again, and add a refined metal module (could be anything, but I'm just using this example) and confirm the station. The Plan Build screen now indicates it needs 376 claytronics, 754 energy cells, and 1380 hull parts to finish the build.

4. Exit the Plan Build screen again.

5. Right click on the station and select "Trade Offers Build Storage". The screen indicates the station will buy 340 claytronics, 681 energy cells, and 1245 hull parts. But it actually needs 376 claytronics, 754 energy cells, and 1380 hull parts to build everything. It will only buy up to the lesser amount though.

Basically, this bug means that anything added to the station after it is confirmed does not show up in the amount needed for "trade with build storage". It will only buy enough material to complete the dock and energy cell production, but not the refined metal production. But, if you save the game and reload, it will set it to the correct amount. You can transfer wares to build storage to get the needed amount, but that is tedious and should not be necessary.

I hope these instructions are clear enough to show the bug, and that a dev can verify this bug. It is something that has bugged me for quite some time.

It takes awhile until build storage buy orders gets updated to corresponding need of 2nd modication.

It ideally should update right away. Many times I have had a situation where I added to an existing station plan, then ordered up what I thought was enough wares to complete the station, only to find that it was not enough to finish the station, and I had to save and restart the game in order to get the correct updated amount. It's an annoying bug that should not be given excuses.
