Replacing One NPC With Another

Ok, so as per this thread, when I was brand new, I recruited two crew for my first ever ship in the Open Universe and one crew, Tsuzune Yamasaki, immediately disappeared. Her comrade lives on, and is now flying a Syn destroyer, but her vanishing haunts me... especially as she's still listed in the save file when opened up. In a ghost ship that doesn't exist as far as I can see; it lists her as as connected to "ship_ter_m_trans_container_01_a_macro", perhaps locked in an eternal battle with other ghost ships... Anyway, I've tried to find mods that will allow you to replace crew (or even just your own player model!) and none seem to allow this? Does anyone know of anything like that?

Alternatively, I tried to manually edit her in; apparently you can't see the NPC crew, only the Captain of each vessel by name in the compressed save file. When I copied over the following lines from her surviving details...

... and reloaded a test save, it just deleted the NPC she was aiming to replace, and she didn't appear again. Not as simple as this then! Is it possible to replace the name and model of the NPC with the one still in the save file? I can abandon skills if need be, but I'd like to at least replicate the character as I tried to recruit when new.

As per this fictional retelling, I found no way to do what I wanted, and there seems to be no obvious mods to directly tweak player model or npc models to preferred outcome; instead, I used the Cheat Menu mod to change the faction of the ship the missing NPC was on to my own, and thus claim her back again directly.
