Covert Operations

I am doing this mission, I have met Saman Red, deployed the advanced satellite and been directed to Hack a repair console in a station in Second contact II , but when I get there the station is under attack and half destroyed and there is nowhere to dock. Anyone else had this problem, if so, is there a solution?

Unfortunately there are several missions that do not check that a target station has a working S/M dock and its associated rooms that the mission may require a player to visit - or the dock gets damaged after mission acceptance. Perhaps the best you can do if you cannot load an earlier save (and hope to be sent elsewhere or somehow avoid the damage this time) is to wait for the station dock to repair (or even assist in the repair by trading any needed resources).

If there is any pier intact, then you could try docking in an L ship in order to move onto the station (via the transporter).

Barring that, it's a longshot, but you could try requesting docking permission from your spacesuit. Some modules have "XS" docking ports that allow station access via spacesuit. But I don't recall which modules support this, and if it is even possible on most stations.

The problem with that approach is that if the original S/M dock is out of commission, then so are the rooms code-linked with that dock that the player may need to visit (ie including the security room with the consoles that have to be hacked).

It's also the S/M docks that have the suit hatch too.

I did go back to a previous save and I was able to dock this time though it was the same station. Thanks for the tips.
