Envoy ship detail discussion (spoilers)

1. Two new Weapon types for the Envoy and the Cypher, the Scalar Arpeture and the Distortion, both come in a excluse forward weapon and a Turret Variant thats Tagged "Advanced"

2. Three forward mounted Weapon slots, two of them generic Medium mounts and one of them is a mandatory exclusive slot, one of the two Envoy weapons has to be slotted for a build order. Theres two turret slots.

3. Shields are just one type, engines have MK1 and MK 2 tiers with Argon and Teladi Variants, ARG engines have better boosts and combat speed and MIN engines have better Travel Drive and Travel Charge time.

4. Envoy and its Equipment get unlocked from ARG and MIN wharfs after completing the first Envoy Mission.

5. Scalar and Distortion Turrets are not exclusive, they can be Equipped on any ship that can slot Advanced tagged Turrets, Similarly, the EM turrets can be equipped on the Envoy.

6. Cover ability covers most factions, the Stealth stance is hard for me to parse as to how it functionaly works in specific distances.

Radar range is 40km uncloaked and 70km cloaked.

Envoy equipment seems to have Universal and Closed Loop build methods.

Also, after the story, go have a look in your Embassy, a new face is there waiting to be hired as an Agent :)

if I may (in case anyone else is flailing about trying to find this info. cause I was!)

- Envoy Autocannon mk1 turret blueprint can be bought at scale plate pact representative. (no idea where to get cypher blueprint at this time)
- Autocannon fits on Boron M ship turrets and Frontier M ship turrets slots.

Side note: I am disappointed with envoy/cypher missile capacity. Needs like +2 more base missile capacity.

The distortion gun is just mean. 24km range and stops all engine power for a couple seconds. This is great for catching up to those Prometheus (or Cyphers) for capturing.
Scalar is a 5km range beam that ignores shields and damages hull directly.

The new turrets are pretty sweet too.
The distortion turret also stops the targets engines for a few seconds and has good projectile speed. Also you can now mount them on Dolphins. Might be worth trying that against pirates.
The autocannon turret is pretty accurate and does high damage with slow rate of fire. Nice on the Envoy or Cypher but it's absolutely brutal on a Tresher (which benefits rather massively from all the new turret options this patch).
The scalar turret does decent damage and ignores shields but has very short range. Haven't tried those on a Tresher yet.

Autocannon blueprint can also be gotten from Cypher research.
Cypher blueprint research is unlocked by capturing one, you can generally find them flying around in TEL and RIP space after you've done the Envoy plot.

As for the missiles the Envoy/Cypher may be slightly disappointing... but the Odachi can now mount Boron torpedo launchers and carries 44 reloads.

What breaks cover mechanic? I tried:

- went near XEN station as YAK cover, undetected: awesome!
- shot XEN with cover, cover breaks: works as expected

Confusing part:

About 15-20 min later, I tried to reactivate YAK cover with XEN nearby and that kept failing. Does cover have to be activated when I’m not seen by enemy faction ? Or do larger XEN ships see through cover?

During the Yaki plot I had both the Litigious Rodent and the Envoy in Savage Spur to destroy the Amplifier. I was mostly flying the Rodent, so I'm not entirely sure if this also applies to the Envoy. After attacking I had to fly away, out of sight of the Xenon, to reactivate the cover.
