Hello,
X4 does not launch anymore, after clicking on play button, the button changes to starting and cancel, and back to start (or play, my steam is in french).
But the game dident even start, no errors, no message. no screens openned even a second.
I tryed the legacy and beta versions, reinstalled the game, checked the files, there is no mods, i disabled the vpn, antivirus, firewall, the cloud save... And still nothing.
My comptuer has a RT 6700 XT and Ryzen 7700X, with AMD adrenalin for the settings, drivers up to date.
No problem with other games.
Any Ideas ?
X4 does not launch, no errors (STEAM VERSION)

We can't help you without any information to work with. Please see the very first thread at the top of the forum and provide the information requested there, including your game version, and your DXDiag and vulkaninfo.
Note that sometimes nothing starting at all is actually a Steam issue, and that verifying your game files and then restarting the Steam client can sometimes solve it.

Looks like this was solved already: https://steamcommunity.com/app/392160/d ... 637482192/
Strangely enough by "installing the VULKAN SDK"

Does uninstalling the Vulkan SDK cause the issue to occur again? If not then it could have been that somehow you installed the Vulkan SDK previously and it became corrupt or incompatible. The Vulkan SDK should only be needed by application developers, regular users should not need to install it.

Re: X4 does not launch, no errors (STEAM VERSION)
I know this was 9 months ago, but I just had same problem. Its a laptop issue from what I see. Just in case someone experiences this issue again. The game keeps choosing the integrated graphics card instead of my NVIDIA one.
Fixed it as follows:
1. Search in windows 11 for "Device manager"
2. Open it
3. scroll down to "Display adaptors"
4. Right click on "AMD Radeon Graphics" or whatever on board graphics are being used. (You will also see your NVIDIA card there - but leave that alone)
5. select properties
6. click the drivers tab and then click on "Disable Device". This may reset your screen resolution, but thats ok - its only temporary. DO NOT CLOSE the drivers tab as you will need it again in a minute.
7. Now Run X4 Foundations/
8. Wait until the TITLE SCREEN starts to load and then return to the drivers tab and click on "Enable Device". You must do this or you will have extreme lag as the game does not like the resolution that disabling the device gave you.
Hope someone finds this useful.

And you tried setting the OS to only use the dGPU with the game?underworld3 wrote: ↑Sat, 7. Mar 26, 05:03 I know this was 9 months ago, but I just had same problem. Go to the Settings app - Display - Graphics, look for Custom Settings for Applications, Search for X4 here and setup it to use the Nvidia GPU instead of letting Windows to decide.
