Re: Eve online
Pretty sure selling accounts is against user agreement, is now and always was.
Usually EVE keeps all its old features, so everything you had before should still be there. Somewhat depends when you last played and what features you were looking for. My accounts still have the old ships they had and still are in the same space with same missions.
What changes surprised you?

Re: Eve online
Long ago you could sell accounts on eBay, then ccp decided that you can only sell in game, I sold a few accounts, for real money and sold some for isk. In game was all on to dedicated forums where you would bid, I’m sorry I don’t know how long you played and when, so I’ll just say it as I go.
I started a month after it came out 2003 and at that time I also purchased Planetside.
The other month I popped on and just didn’t know what to do, everything I knew was completely different, I didn’t want to leave the station for fear of not getting back in!
I had 90%+ of all BPs, most of the ships and made POS ( Player Only stations for others, at a price, of course.
I had a “Company” In Jita called “Zen Style Services” and my front man was Cyber Broker, this is the link if you want to peep.

I was making untold fortunes with him, which funded the plex’s and my other 16 accounts, I was also a -10 pirate, eventually sold that character, then in January 2007 my wife passed away from cancer, she was just 42, I just couldn’t carry on after, but that was the end of it that year, then a year later or so I started again, but it was short lived, then I started once more and finally finished in 2013, it’s a massive time sink, and looking after all those accounts, it was like a full time job!
So I wanted just to see my old muckers are still on there, hence why I popped on, sadly none were as one still owes me a lot of isk, hey ho.
So here I am, it’s changed, I just didn’t want to do nothing in case I mucked up, so it’s uninstalled now, I doubt if I go back anyway, just wanted to see if anyone played and remembered the good old days?

I see, I will have to check, as I haven't played in 10+ years
last biggest change I am aware of is a free to play training tier

Re: Eve online
I *bought* eve when it was first released and you still bought said games back then. I wasn't impressed when on a dodgy 56k modem I had a 25 or so megabyte (yep, mb) download that'd take about a day... before I could even play it. I tried to get a refund...
It was gorgeous, it had atmosphere, but the glacial slow-keep-them-paying-to-play lost my interest in the competition of Freelancer and shortly thereafter, X2.
While my account is still there and I accessed it probably a decade ago - by that point it even new accounts received more as a starting bonus than my old account *had* after 20 hours of actual gameplay.
Would love to give it a go again, but it just seems to need a literal *year* of time invested. So while the dip in and out nature may be attractive in one regard given it is free to a point -- the skill timegating put me off it permanently.

Re: Eve online
Yes the pay to play was an ongoing saga, eventually you could pay via plex/isk.
The last time I tried to play, I heard kids were ganking in high sec, I had all factions largest haulers and as they were so slow, I would pick up trit and other minerals send them out far away, load them then go to bed on their long haul back, you can’t do that after I left they would destroy your ship in high sec and then rest of them would fend off the “police”
No fun in that, I lost all contact and never kept up to date with it, I have a lot of fond memories of Eve, met some really helpful people when I started.
I won’t be going back but the memories will definitely stay with me.

The major cost to computer games for me these days is not money, but time. I can't afford the time to properly play Eve.

I’ve retired and I still would play again, it’s just an utter time sink!

Me and a group of friends used to play this years ago - I stopped playing when we where absorbed into a super pirate guild (or rather they made the decision to surrender to them)
Part of me Wonders if that account would still work.
...No MMOs are like crak coke to me
I sometimes wonder about playing SWTOR though
