Make Earth Great Again

Having been passed over for a commission with the Terran military after officer candidate school Raibu took a short term security job in the orbit around Mars. Unfortunately, his superior saw that Raibu was exceptionally gifted in engineering and so instead of patrols Raibu was tasked with repairing satellites.

“No job is unnecessary.” he was told.

The mission didn’t go as planned however when Xenon were attracted to a fake distress signal which also lured Raibu and his wingman to the site.

After the incident Haley informed Raibu that mission command was offering them another assignment. However, at that moment Raibu had boarded the Katana sent by mission command to take care of the wreck. Raibu demanded the of the specialist his passport, ID card, and other credentials. The specialist tried to ignore Raibu’s lawful orders so Raibu put his boot onto the pilot control console and demanded the items again.

“Now. Not tomorrow. Not next week. Right now. If I have to get them myself you’re going to be in handcuffs.” Raibu told him. Upon submitting the paperwork to Raibu and him seeing that everything was indeed in order so that he did not have to commandeer this vessel, Raibu went back to his Kukri and pondered what had just happened.

The Xenon had infiltrated Sol all the way to Mars and had not been stopped. This was unacceptable. Sol was his home. It only remained safe with constant vigilance.

So Raibu used the comm to call mission command and told them to postpone the boarder mission. Raibu had to make Sol safe again. He didn’t exactly know where to start but a good first step would be to get a police license since he was absolutely going to be bringing law and order to everyone he met. On the way some undocumented Teladi was getting deported by boarder patrol.

In the orbit around Saturn Raibu finished his paperwork for a system wide police license and there on the wall he saw a poster. It was a fundraiser to rebuild a section of now destroyed Taurus. It called to Raibu’s mind that Earth had been given a black eye and then when Earth was going to punch back the system had been rigged against them because that was when the gates shut down.

So many people died on the Taurus. So many died in the war. So many Terrans were lost out there in space when the gates shut down. And now that they were reconnected, there weren’t any Terrans coming home to Sol. Where were they? The Argons were being tight lipped about it but it was obvious to Raibu what must have happened. Families. Gone. All the children. Gone. What kind of monsters do that? Whatever the Argon were, they weren’t human anymore.

Now the gate reconnected Sol to the Argon’s so called community of planets nothing was safe. Sol was better off isolated. The gates only meant danger would come. Enemies were at the gates. No matter how much they kept their guard up, the enemies of mankind would never stop coming so long as those gates were open. It wasn’t enough to stay isolated. Earth had to instead project power out across the gate network to show all of mankind’s enemies that there was nowhere they could hide from retribution. Earth would not be giving them a black eye. Earth would be nuking them from the universe.

It was the only way to make Sol safe again. It was the only way to make Earth great again.

At that moment Raibu might only have one ship and a few Sol Dollars to his name but could see a vision of what he wanted so clearly he could almost reach out and hold it. More ship. Some stations. His own shipyard producing war ships. It all starts from here.
