Station-assigned Traders stalling

Post by Scoob »

Hey all,

Been having a little dabble with Farnham's Legacy again recently and I've run in to an odd issue...

I have stations with Ships assigned in the BUY Role for Energy Cells. There are plenty of EC's locally and for an appropriate price. However, so very often a station-assigned Trader will just sit there, showing as "Searching for Trade Route..." while the station STARVES. I can see no logical explanation why they'd simply stop working, only to seemingly randomly start working again.

For example, I have a small Complex consisting of A Cattle Ranch L, Cahoona Bakery L and Wheat Farm L. This station has two Mercury Tankers assigned. The station is currently VERY low on ECs and will run out in a couple of minutes. However, both Ships are just sat that "Searching for Trade Route..." The nearby - same sector - XL SPP (Owned by me too) is FULL of ECs at the lowest price. I just don't understand why ships fail to trade.

This seems to go in cycles. Everything will be working great, with a station's EC storage increasing as ships return. EC supply is more than ample. Then, out of the blue, I'll notice a station or complex flashing yellow. I'll check and it's out of EC's and any assigned Traders - set to "Buy for best price... EC's" are just sat on the station.

No hostiles in the area, nothing bad going on. They simply just stop working. Has anyone else encountered this? It's a new one for me, though I've really not played FL much at all. Had a lot of time in Albion Prelude (and all prior X games) though.
