Blame the mice, its their fault, one is sleeping on the job, the other is hitch-hiking, as for the third, last seen wearing and no idea where. Without them, the servers will never be up to speed. Someone will get an ear full by the end of the day!

Did you mean the Egosoft server power-generation hamsters?

Hopefully the problem will be fixed after the weekend and any bank holiday.

Well. the server mice are the backups, but clearly they are on holiday and someone let them out. As for the server power generated hamsters, they clearly been running overtime and deserve a break!

General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysqli ]

Too many connections [1040]

This is happening to me, too. Additional data - it started right after Firefox performed an update this morning. Almost every new page on the forum I access results in this error, and a simple refresh 'fixes' it. Was fine before that.

It's very unlikely to be a browser-related issue. People are seeing it with various different browsers.

Do you even notice that your Forum is bugging out?

Post by IlikeThisgame »

I just wonder, did you guys notice the SQL Erorrs? Is it hacked? Is it overwhelmed by egosoft staff tryin to fix their game? ;)

Literally on every page... since days... you would have noticed, if you visited your forum from time to time and read... bug reports or so? ... maybe.. just an idea...

It makes responding to tech reports and general moderating just as difficult for the forum officials too! The system tech admins get weekends and bank holidays off (sometimes, such as now).

Yes, probably fairly soon after their system admin techs get back to work on Monday. Someone in the DE office who is not a server expert tinkering in the meantime might make things worse.

That may be, but I did not experience it until yesterday when Firefox updated my browser. And I get all the regular updates. I'm not saying it's the browser's fault. I'm just saying something in the latest update may have exposed a fault in the website. Just supplying another data point.

More reports (or threads) about an already well-known forum issue affecting everyone here won't bring Monday here any quicker. We need the sys admin tech that knows where to kick the server and how hard. :D

Forum went down for about an hour this morning presumably to supercharge the hamsters, but after returning still getting the same MySQL errors.
Just mentioning it in case any server maintainers are watching this topic.

Might not be the hamsters fault directly. If the server is close to maxing out available disk space it's just "too many hamsters", thus fixing it might take a bit longer as it's also about upgrading hardware.

We're well aware of the ongoing issues, and we're still working on a solution. It's not a hardware issue, but nevertheless it is probably going to take a while to sort out.
