I hope you can help me
I just can not find anything good video editor. Until now i have been using CLIPCHAMP, but now i am looking for a free program that offers following recording features:
1440p videos
60fps
AV-1 capable
I did read that DAVINCI RESOLVE should be nice, has anyone expirience with it or similar
Thx
Windows has a built in game dvr recorder. Press windows key + x then settings - gaming. Can adjust fps, etc... in its settinfg. For recording. Large files.
Obs recorder can be adjusted. Can adjust output settings. Bit rate, formats, audio, etc... For recording.
Not sure about av1 encoding.
For editing videos sony Vegas free version maybe? There a reddit video editing forum likely to find stuff there. Can do stuff with handbrake, ffmpeg but more difficult. Windows has some editing software. Cut, concat etc... very limited. Youtube also has a video editor. Not sure if bing or chat gpt can edit videos. Can do AI photo edits but quirks and free tier limitations. Bing photo might be free not sure about videos.
Previously, I've used and liked paid versions of Sony Vegas, but I no longer have it.
Recently, after doing a bit of research into free video editors, I downloaded Davinci Resolve. I haven't had a chance to try it out much. I don't particularly like the interface, but that's something to get used to. There are a few others to consider. I don't remember which they were.
I guess Davinci Resolve would be my suggestion for a free video editor.
I’ve tried DaVinci Resolve too and honestly, while it’s powerful, it felt kind of heavy for regular video stuff. The interface didn’t click for me either, especially when I only needed to do simpler edits or quick exports. I ended up using Shotcut for a while, way easier to navigate and still supports up to 4K, but I’m not sure how it handles AV1.
One thing that did help was switching file formats before editing. MOV files from my camera were a real pain until I figured out how to convert MOV to MP4 without losing much quality. Found a quick walkthrough on https://www.movavi.com/support/how-to/h ... o-mp4.html that sorted it out easily.
