no CD drive - Explained.

hello

i have the physical game and an online registration key but i don't have a cd\dvd drive.

i'm trying to find out if i can download the game [X3 reunion] for free.

any help would be appreciated.

If you already have an X3:R Steam/GOG online registration key as you say then just use that to download the game without need for a CD/DVD drive.

Owning just the physical X3:R CD and its disk identity code does not grant free download of X3:R as that free Steam access facility only started with X3:TC/X3:AP and/or the Superbox set.

bad news for me, as the reg key is just the one that came with the disk.

guess i'll have to invest in a portable cd\dvd drive.
