The (in)famous Hyperion locked doors

Post by MakerLinux »

The two red-locked doors in the mid section of the Hyperion.

They will open at some time, right? Right?

I mean, it's just too good an opportunity to miss. Making these doors a solvable mystery, or being timed for some reason, or whatever.

What will we see behind those doors?

I wouldn't get your hopes up too high. Other ships have fake "doors", like Sapporo. Stations have had locked "doors" since launch. Sometimes it's just to indicate there's canonically more to the thing than the tiny spaces used by players.

It's worse than that. The madness continues... There's a locked door at the lower section. If you send the lift up you'll get a clearer view. Maybe we'll find out what's behind those doors on an expeditionary expedition, or perhaps not. :P

I remember the original Hyperion could dock an M sized ship at either side (I used to have two Teladi Kea's as escorts which docked there), maybe these doors are some kind of weird homage to something we can no longer do in the new model, as the docking bay is now internal rather than 2 alongside port and starboard.

I bet behind the doors we only find the view obscured by ... plants.

The Hyperion docked 2 smalls on the outside, not M sized, as the Hyperion in X3 was an M class.

Teladi Kea was an M3 Plus https://roguey.co.uk/x3tc/ships/ship-153/
.. So more like a heavy fighter, with 8 weapons, a rear turret and a front turret. I relate that to Nemesis size ships in X4

Corpse storage, specifically for blasphemous 2-eyed interlopers who ask too many questions about the sacred geometry of the Pontifex's holy galleon.

Kea was in same world as the Eclipse, which we also still have in X4, all were still S class.

Ok, I understand my hopes are in vain. The Hyperion's doors will not be redeemed.

However, are the mod bindings of X4 powerful enough to allow someone to "unlock" and model inside their rooms? That would give me hope to have some closure after I conquer the entire universe of my save, get all achievements and starting using mods again. Maybe 10 years from now...

Thats about when I will be starting to use mods too, maybe a bit less than 10, once all the major updates are finished (and we no longer have to wait for Mods to be updated to be compatible, if the author is still around), and we finally know one way or the other the fate of Ventures.

They are doors to the personal quarters of crew members. They are closed because Egosoft did not expect players to be rude enough to want disturb the crew during their sleep cycle.
