Were Ravagers meant to have destructible elements?

It seems weird to me that it has destructible shield generators but nothing else. Making any effort to strip its main shield modules with dedicated weapons rather than kill it outright seems pointless in light of being under indestructible turret fire the whole time.

It also has (per the encyclopedia) 21 shield generators on it, suggesting its turrets and maybe engines are shielded. But why would they be if they can't be attacked?
