Re: TrackIR Head Tracking Causing Glitching/Flickering In Menus
Here to confirm this using opentrack via UDP
Also, hoping that for the devs is a small change (I know it never is, but I have some hope):
PLEASE, if a connection with Opentrack is established, overwrite the connection with tobii and give priority to opentrack... I integrated tobii inside opentrack, I don't want to use the tobii native integration for multiple reason (head tracking doesn't work with tobii 4c). X4, which is my favourite space game, is the only one that doesn't support this, because as soon as it sees a tobii in the system it makes it win over everything else, no matter what connection is established. If it is just an "if" somewhere in the code, please please change it <3

1. Version 7.5 Language English
2. No mods only DLC
3. Timelines, Open Universe the head tracking is different you can no longer look at the map and move the head.
4. Exactly the same issue as in the video above.
Since the new update and Hyperion Pack I've started having issues with track IR. The issue presents itself only when I open up any menu including the map ect... There is a split screen that follows the track ir and makes the game unplayable. I've never had this issue in the past. If I take a screen shot with steam it does not recognize it but you can clearly see from my phone the issue at hand.

Do not bump threads. When there is new information, we will post let people know.
If you want the problem to be solved quicker then provide the information requested at the top of the forum, along with any further details that you think might be useful to someone trying to find trace and fix the issue. Making pointless "+1" and "fix it" posts achieves absolutely nothing, and if you continue to do it then your posts will be removed.

Re: [#3463] TrackIR Head Tracking Causing Glitching/Flickering In Menus
Switching off the keybind for resetting head tracking seemed to work for me. At least the menus don't flicker anymore but there is still an occasional flicker in-game and seems to get worse over time. The default keybind is set to scroll-lock so that is causing some interferance when using Track Ir. Hope this helps in finding the root cause.

Re: [#3463] TrackIR Head Tracking Causing Glitching/Flickering In Menus
I have a similar problem, which makes the game unplayable. https://youtu.be/AbEtTyPlAgU
Game ver: 7.60 (562021) German + TrackIR5 (Drv.ver. 5.5.3)
-No Mods
-The problem occurs in any situation where the game interface is used, such as the map, settings, or the top panel in the ship's cockpit. I’ve tried all the settings available to me. None of them helped
-I haven’t played the game for a couple of years. Since then, I’ve upgraded Windows and completely rebuilt my PC (All drivers are up-to-date)
PS. I can't upload my DX file in this post, so see it here pls. viewtopic.php?p=5285125#p5285125
PSS. Yes, I cleaned the device and the problem was resolved.

To solve this problem, it's enough to simply clean your device, including the camera and LED. It helped me.Nimrod989 wrote: ↑Fri, 21. Feb 25, 22:45 Version and language (e.g. 7.10 Hotfix 1, English, etc.).

To check whether dirt is the cause of your problem, simply go to the driver settings and set the light sensitivity filter slider to 0. If you see a noisy mess instead of clear lights, then this issue affects you.

Re: [#3463] TrackIR Head Tracking Causing Glitching/Flickering In Menus
hello, i've got exactly this problem, we need a fix please.
[edit] :
all drivers up to date, last windows version, last game version , no mods, track ir 5 with last drivers.
i think i found something when i play with the FPS limiter.
https://youtu.be/pLhIf5cN1SM
When I hover the mouse over the frame rate limiter, the game sometimes switches to 65 FPS, even though the selected limit is much higher.
And when the game is at 65 FPS, the flickering is much less noticeable, but that is not the desired frame rate.

Just demanding a fix without providing any information whatsoever that would even let us identify whether your problem is actually the same as the one described in this thread is not terribly productive. See the very first sticky thread at the top of the forum you just posted in for the information required.
Note also that several people in this thread have solved this problem themselves, with it turning out not to be a game issue at all in their cases.

Re: [#3463] TrackIR Head Tracking Causing Glitching/Flickering In Menus
Game version: 8.00 (590967)
Started playing today and I can confirm this is still happening on two different computers, one old TrackIR 5 + hat and a brand new TrackIR 5 + ProClip, tried it on two different devices (one AMD laptop with the TrackIR 5 + hat and my intel desktop with the new TrackIR 5 + TrackClip Pro), issue is exactly the same.
Both work without any bug or glitches in MSFS 2020, MSFS2024, Elite: Dangerous, Nuclear Option, Arma Reforger
Playing at 120 fps locked, borderless fullscreen. Desktop is 4k@120hz RTX 4090FE, laptop is 1440p@240Hz RTX 3080
It seems that it's trying to display the centered cockpit with the gray overlay but it glitches and shows for a few frames of the "normal" camera (no gray overlay or menu open) every second. Pausing TrackIR tracking with F9 shows an animation of the camera recentering and the glitches stop.
Almost all menus causes the glitch to happen: Map, Ship menu, options as examples.
From what I tested only the quick Commo Rose style menu and interact menu (to request docking) work correctly.
Tried disabling X, Y and Z axis in the TrackIR profile for X4 but it doesn't change anything.
Tried activating/deactivating Vsync, DLSS FG, DLSS SR and forcing DLSS 4.5 in the NVIDIA app to no avail.
Only thing that fixes the issue is lowering the max FPS, around 100 and lower there's no issue. Setting it to unlimited trigger the glitch constantly.
Video that shows the glitch depending on the FPS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mN6GHKsQwiI

Re: [#3463] TrackIR Head Tracking Causing Glitching/Flickering In Menus
Hello all,
New player here with a track ir 5,
I also have this issue of this "duplicate overlapping image" (one centered and the overlapping one following the track ir movement) when opening map etc...
It could be greatly reduce if you set your max FPS at 120, issue will be greatly reduced, but may still occur occasionally.
Setting FPS to 100 seems to fix the issue as a workaround, a few glitch may still ocurrs like when you scroll through the keymap list
As others already said disabling the camera with F9 in track ir software also fix the issue immediately.
Game version: 8.00 (590967)
Desktop is 3440*1440@144hz RTX 5080FE (driver 596.21)
Track ir software : 5.5.3
Do you know if it's fixed in the new beta 9 ?

No TrackIR-related changes have been made in 9.00 so far, and I can't promise that they will.
