Hello X-Fans,

The Timelines leaderboard has been reset and the Mellow Mocha paint mod has been sent out to the Top 100 players per scenario, as promised!



We hope you had a fantastic Holiday season! We want to share some important news about an upcoming change:

THE ONLINE LEADERBOARD OF X4: TIMELINES WILL BE RESET WHEN THE FLIGHT MODEL UPDATE IS RELEASED.

This reset is necessary due to the fundamental changes being made to the flight model, which will make comparisons with the older scores unfair. While we cannot provide an exact date for this change, we can confirm that the Flight Model Update is expected to be released in Q1 2025.

To make things interesting, we’re announcing a competition for a special reward:
Reach the Top 100 spot in any X4: Timelines scenario before the reset is applied, and you'll be rewarded with a special Mellow Mocha paint mod!



Just a heads-up: You'll only receive one paint mod, even if you make it into the Top 100 in multiple scenarios!
For clarification: unlike in regular "Beat the Community Manager" rounds, you don’t need to post your score this time, as we will use a different method to evaluate scores.

We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause and we sincerely thank you for understanding.

I'm assuming that "The Recruitment Mission" doesn't count, right? Also, just curious if all of the current top scores are truly legitimate. For example, the top score I see for "Rise and Mine" is 24,436 which is over 17 times the 1,500 score required for the 5 star rating. I'm sure there are some truly excellent pilots out there, but I suppose my imagination is too limited to fathom how such scores are possible. As always, thanks for providing these great events.

For what it's worth, here's my submission. Hope it counts -- with my poor skills, I just barely made the cut!

Quick request for clarification. Do you:

a) submit a screenshot of you holding a top 100 place now, like previous contests?

Indeed, how will you handle tied spots?
For example: everyone who has 5-star in "The Recruitment" is tied for 50th spot, that seems like there's a few-hundred people who "qualify"?

a) anyone who is tied for <=100 in the leaderboard will win (potentially more than 100 people, potentially many many more if counting "the recruitment")
b) only the first 100 users per mission will qualify

You can play them, but any scores you achieve during the 7.50 Public Beta will be reset along with the 7.10 scores when 7.50 goes on full public release, to give everyone a level playing field.

So afer release of the update will open universe unlocks be kept despite scores reset or we will have to go through all scenarios again to get the rewards?

This has nothing to do with any unlocks. Only the online leaderboard is being reset.

Question: Would those who roll back to 7.10 (or 7.00) have the ability to still be on the leaderboard? I'm just thinking of occasions where the 7.10 mechanics might give players an unfair advantage and produce uncompetitive scores, where it might not be possible for a 7.50 player to match. In other words, will the leaderboard be restricted to those on versions 7.50 and later?

With the release of 7.5, it looks like the Timelines leaderboards have been reset. Is there any word on if/when the rewards will be distributed? Also, with the previous rankings no longer visible, how will players be able to confirm if their previous score(s) qualified for the top 100 rankings prior to the reset? Or will players be receiving any kind of confirmation aside from simply receiving the paint mod?

Only the 7.50 scores (and scores by future game versions) are tracked from this point.

We just sent out the paint mod and it should appear in your online inventory automatically, given that you're logged into your Egosoft account in X4. Unfortunately, there's no notification system in place - for now, you'll have to trust us on that we sent the rewards out to the players who succeeded.

Thanks very much. I too can confirm that the paint mod is now available in game under the Venture Inventory.

This makes a lot of sense now, I was going through some timelines missions today and noticed I was in the top 5 or so, and only like 7 names were showing up...
