Quatternaut trade broken

Started a custom game and noticed there are no barter missions and no way to initiate or complete trade with the new faction. Started another custom game and set faction rep to 30 still nothing BUT! I have to say the devs improved the receive rank speech I almost fell out when the faction rep pretty much told me thanks go trade now get lost I'm busy! Is barter broken at present? Or am I missing something obvious?
