Quettanauts ? Purpose ?

Again me !

Just a little thing for those who unlocked the Quettanauts in the sandbox. What is their purpose ? I have the sensation they are a some of faction reviver to support the struggling factions ?

I'd love to know as well. So far they seem very... non-interactive? They don't sell blueprints, they don't sell ships or equipment, they give me trade missions I can't complete because they don't actually buy anthing and I can't figure out how to initiate one of these barter trades the first NPC introduces you to.

Their stations are the only place where you can hire fully clothed Teladi crew members, so I guess that's at least something :gruebel:

I'd like to know as well.

Aside from the small mission chain that provides you the Xperimental Shuttle (which is awesome by the way), there doesn't seem to be anything more that you can do with them. Other factions can freely trade with the Quettanauts, but the player can't. I did the one barter mission the mission chain gave, however after getting +10 relations, the faction representative said there were more barter offers available, but there is no indicators as to how to get them. It also seemed like they were setting up tension with the Ministry of Finance, but that ended abruptly. It seems like the Quettanauts are a minor lore faction akin to that of the Riptide Rakers in ToA. At least their station designs are decent.

That all being said, Both Mitsuno's Defiance and Mitsuno's Sacrifice are absolutely stacked with natural resources and there's no pirates in their space, so it's a nice place to set up your own personal economy in a safe area. Good for noobs.

They're currently looking into it, as it seems as if there should be more barter missions appearing.

I wish I had read this prior to gathering construction materials for a mission I accepted at one of their stations. There's no buy or delivery orders. I guess I'll just abort the mission.

the barter mechanic is at least pretty interesting. you get some pretty valuable things just for moving some ships back and forth, but it is something you have to do manually.

I haven't spent much time with it so can't see yet whether the whole thing leads somewhere.

what kind of reward do you get by bartering with them?

You only can barter through station missions, and not, isn't working consistently, as sometimes the station don't have enough quantity of the wares that they offer in exchange, and you need to have your ship waiting until the station manufacture enough wares.

I'm right there with you. The Quettanauts are super mysterious and frustratingly non-interactive. They don’t sell blueprints, ships, or equipment, and their trade missions are impossible to complete since they don’t buy anything. The barter trade system is a headache too. At least you can hire fully clothed Teladi crew members at their stations. I guess that’s a small win?

So, you're telling me that in order to barter, I need to fly close to each individual station and gather "jobs"? Surely, there has to be a way that will take more of my time for nearly no gain.

The barter system is a mystery to me. I have seen no offer, only those random standard missions about patrolling and moving one dude from a station to another.

I found some cool station modules in the last system that I could emp/steal the blueprint for :)

You get a couple blueprints (3 or 4 connecting structures and L + XL housing spire) for reaching rep 20. After that i haven't found any reason to ever remember their existence.

The barter missions can be very profitable in terms of value gained, but they're an absolute pain to complete because you have to do all trades manually.
I got to rep 20 mainly by flying patrol, miner escort and satellite placement missions after the first mandatory barter one which didn't take too long.
