Crackling Audio in X3FL [Resolved]

Post by Wing2137 »

EDIT: Disregard this thread, I'm just dumb. It turns out that a few sounds in particular somehow got corrupted, and I managed to fix them. Of course, they were the ones I kept testing everytime I loaded my save. In other words, it was never a codec problem. It was a few specific sound files. For the moment, alls well. I'm gonna delete my giant dxdiag as well. Sorry for the trouble, lol.

So I've been having this problem for some time now. When in-game audio plays such as weapons firing, or Betty talking, there's a slight "pop" or "crackle" that occurs towards the end of the sound, and sometimes even the beginning. I recently upgraded from my old Windows 7 computer to this current rig that is running Windows 11. I'm certain it's a codec problem, as X3 is notorious for this sort of thing. I had a similar issue on my old Win7 PC, and was able to fix it through the various fixes I had found on the internet (disable mp2/mp3 in CCCP/LAV settings, disabling ffdshow, run in compatibility mode, lowering realtek audio output to 44100hz, etc). This time however, I am unable to resolve it with the same fixes I found on the internet. I've been at it for days now, to no avail. I've already reinstalled the game, and tried just about everything else I can think of in order to fix the blasted thing. If someone here who is more familiar with reading dxdiag files can find the culprit, I'd really appreciate it. Beyond that, I'm not sure what else to do. I'm open to any and all suggestions. Thank you!

I'll have to make a second post in order to post the entire dxdiag, as it is far too long for a single post. Here it is:
