X4: Foundations 7.00 is a monumental upgrade, introducing a host of new features and enhancements that will elevate the X4 experience. Players can look forward to reimagined Teladi and Argon capital ships, new sectors and landmarks, a revamped external camera system, and the "Existential Crisis" endgame challenge. Continuous engine improvements, extended button remapping options, and a new controller profile will further refine gameplay. As with previous updates to X4, the switch to 7.00 is free of charge for existing owners of X4: Foundations. X4: Timelines, the new expansion, brings a revolutionary approach to the X4 universe. It features a thrilling storyline centred around Harper Donel, a trader whose encounter in the border territories will shake the foundations of the universe. Playing these scenarios will also unlock new missions within the X4: Timelines storyline, and bonuses for your wider X4 sandbox universe - among them reimagined, classic ships from X Universe history.

Thank you for continuing to support this amazing game. It's hard to improve on something that is already fantastically fun to play. As I thought back when I first played this game XBTF: " What could possibly be better than this?"

I've been waiting for 7.0 and Timelines to drop before playing, so this is all great news. Would you say Timelines would be a "good way in" for new players? It seems so from the description.

My only concern, so far is rather low amount of new ships seen in Timelines.

Till now we only seen 8:

Old Terran fighter
Old Terran corvette
Old Terran Carrier
Unidentified Split big ship
Xenon M0
Khaak M0
(Argon?) Racing fighter

It's dissapointing to see no Teladi, Boron or Paranid ships (Hyperion would be no brainer) - somehow I doubt we'll see anything more that above 8 ships.

Somehow I suspect that old Terraformer ship added by 7.0 were originally intended to be for Timelines, but move to the main game (not that I complain about it ).

My biggest question at the moment is what it means to unlock a ship in the sandbox. Will other factions use it? Can it be built? Is it just another Astrid, Erlking, Yasur type situation? Given the time it takes them to make a ship I'm not really fond of the limited types that in a practical sense barely exist in the game world.
