i installed reshade to X3 and enabled a few shaders to my liking.
For example more vibrant colors through HDR.
I added a filmgrain effect which looks in some cases cool - it depends.
i like strong colors

How to use / install:
- Download preset and copy to your X3 game directory (optional)
- Downloads reshade
- Run reshade installer
- Choose your game from the listing or choose game location
-- for example "C:\program files\steam\steamapps\common\x3 terran conflict\X3FL.exe"
-- in my case its "F:\Spiele\steam\steamapps\...\X3FL.exe" - Choose Directx9 according to https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/X3:_T ... nflict#API
- Choose either:
-- The downloaded preset
-- Or choose the effects you probably want to use
-- Choosing effects just provides but not enables them right away
-- You can choose more effects than the preset defines - Proceed, reshade should be installed succesfully
- Start X3
- reshade should load immediately and display a welcome message
- open the reshade interface by pressing default key "Pos1" or "Home" or whatever its called
- Reshade shows the tutorial
- You can select the preset and/or set your own settings
