That's interesting. I'm just using regular Station-assigned Traders - albeit with some Ware restrictions in place - and I've not seen ANY of them with leftover wares in storage after a larger build like I used to. It seems that, for the original scenario I posted about at least, that the excess wares issue is fixed.
I assume by "copy the leader's behaviour" you mean Mimic? I confess, I don't use that myself, even in situations where perhaps it makes sense. When it was first added it, well, it wasn't very good, and I just never think to use it any more. Perhaps it's generally better now, but I have no recent experience with it.

Yes mimic was the order.(different language preset IG )
Have observed the issue a bit further, it seems that unlike the commander task his minions do not create simultaniously a buy and sell order, but instead buy and idle around for some set time/range of jumps to find a place to sell if that fails they buy the next cheap item on the comanders goods list than idle again... and so on. on the bright side though it seems that they try selling their old stuff too if they sold their newest acquisition.

Re: [#2469][7.0 Beta 2] Too many wares loaded on Station-assigned Ship (Save)
If you are using Distribute Wares then that is not unexpected. The essence of the behaviour is to load up on wares a station sells a lot of and then distribute those wares to buyers. The behaviour does check that there are buyers at all but it's totally possible that the ship won't be able to sell all the wares right away if it's not bought in sufficient quantities.
Before loading up with a new ware the ships typically try to sell what they already have in their cargo hold (most trade/mining behaviours do that).
If you are using multiple ships with the Distribute Wares behaviour and find that they frequently are left with (temporarily) unsellable wares then you might want to consider using fewer ships, a different behaviour or restricting the wares allowed.
