I clicked this one out of curiosity, but in first paragraph it's mentione it is an Aprils fools article.
Didn't read that, but maybe it was a joke to laugh at Trump's own design? still, the one that Trump wants is still in the design and concept stage. Plus he did mention many times that he wanted to revise the battleship. So maybe the china one was a joke, then again, no one has made a battleship in 80 years plus. Outdated for modern naval warfare. And something that Trump doesn't understand.

Not only is the concept outdated, it's not what the USA needs.

Right now the USA is desperately short on light surface combatants. Corvettes, frigates, maybe the odd destroyer. If you are, say, blockading a narrow strait (not that the USA would ever be in that position) it's a large number of small [semi-expendable] hulls with VLS launchers that you need.

Looks like there going to be some major egg on Trump's and FIFA faces. So Trump is threatening to deport players and staff from America. Trump has said that he will be sending ICE agents to airports to help them. This in turn has cause some countries like Germany to say, they may boycott the world cup. And there are people who are also saying that FIFA and the world cup is just not worth having anything to do with. And Trump has tried a lot to get FIFA to host as many games in America as he can. Don't forget they gave him that phoney peace prize.

There also been calls to freeze ICE during the duration of the games. But hotels are now slashing prices, because people are cancelling their rooms.

On top of that, we have LIV golf (Saudi based golfing company, and we all know that Trump has deep connections to this. And many LIV events were hold on his own golf clubs. Well, now the Saudis' are basically saying, they are reevaluating their priorities, when it comes to hosting any more games. As they are under great pressure, due to security reasons.

So, more egg and Trump;s face, and more money lost as well. yet, I don';t see Trump really caring at this stage.

Agreed, but who is going to say no to him? especailly if he has the pressure to bare on congress and senate to get things done? That is the issue. But yes, the second video does go into detail on what this concept is, and how it will fail. including the dependency on fossil fuel. I think in that respect, with Trumps insistence of reviving that out of date class, he just wants a class of ship with his name on it. Because he is big, and macho, etc. Which is another reasons I think he wants his name on this ship, as it WAS a big class of ships, like the German Bismark. But then again, we are doing with someone with limited brain capacity now.

I think the Vasa would be a much better example. The Bismarck did at least do something.

That is just one example of battleships, For America, it was the The USS Missouri, or Mighty Mo, was the 4th and final Iowa class battleship to enter service, June 11, 1944. But the point is, the battleship in general is just useless in this day and age.

U.S. Commission of Fine Arts approved a 24-karat gold commemorative coin featuring President Donald Trump to celebrate America's 250th birthday on July 4, 2026.

Not only does the coin look utter hideous, BUT its also 3 inches in diameter!!!???

Seriously, what a total madness. Even for a die hard MAGA fan, would be hard pressed to buy something like that, unless they like to kiss his feet every day. Madness, utter madness, but what else would you expect from a mentally gone president?

It'd only be die hard rich Maga fans anyway. Coins are for collectors, not Joe Maga.

Commemorative 1 ounce 22karat coins by the Us Mint are $5600 a pop. They're 1.2" - so at 3" its about 6x the volume, and at 24karat, so would approach $35k a coin?
It's unlikely to go ahead given the size, the cost, the desire to be "successful" sales wise, the fact it's got his (living) face on it which is against tradition and so on.
Or alternatively, there'll be far more options (silver, clad and so on).

Wait and see... and then post giggle when the sales are published.

In a world dominated by carriers and guided missiles, the preferred term for a battleship is "target."

Large battleships are called "juicy targets."

RFK Jr. begins the administration's fight against woke mathematics. He tells congress that, "President Trump has a different way of calculating percentages. If you have a $600 and you reduce it to $10, that's a 600% reduction.".

I for one welcome the full and complete end of any truth based, science based and empirically founded thought and applaud RFK for making it clear, that the simulacrum will, from here on, be official American doctrine.

when people say "reduction" by a percentage, do they mean division by a value represented as percentage?

so / 6000%?

or multiplication by percent, * 1.66%

or subtraction by percent of the first value, - 98.3% ?

This one.
At least in real life you cannot reduce something more than 100%.
Same with infusing upwards, e.g. alcohol - you can't have 101% of alcohol in alcohol solution.

To be honest - in schools, percentages was first filter, where people start to fall into Humanities and STEM categories :D

Granted this was when people failed on percentage to multiplication conversion upwards:

increase by 100% (increse twice, doubled)
increase by 200% (tripled)
increase by 300% (quadruple)

I always thought slashing downwards was easy and natural even to people who sux at math:
decrease by 25% (cut by quarter, cut to 3/4)
decrease by 50% (cut by half, cut to 1/2)
decrease by 75% (cut to quarter, cut by 3/4)
decrease by 90% (cut to tenth, cut by 9/10)
decrease by 100% (cut to nothing, reduce to zero)

Your putting too much thought into it.

This is Trump''s maths, he can do whatever he wants. After all, he is the smartest mathematician in the room.

In other words, the maths are ALWAYS correct, even if some other says otherwise. Or in the case of another clown, like RFK, they don't know what the hell they talking about.

True, his numbers never made sence or beign true on a good day - it was his quirk for long long time.

However, it's starts to be concerning when this condition starts to spread to other individuals.

Looks like Trump's super PAC and save America super PAC is flat out broke. Trump been using the money to fund his many legal expenses. Which is why he been desperately trying to raise cash. You know, for all those lawsuits and so on, plus his campaign visits which are getting empty seas. and Trump still has to pay some legal fees there.

While the dems have been raising money by the truckload. So come midterms, the GOP are probably looking to be flat out broke.

The GOP may as well declare bankruptcy at this point. Oh wait, is this why MEGA might has been declaring so many holidays for the GOP? as they don't have enough money to fund congress? (joke) but still, the rate things going, the GOP are finished one way or another. Just will take time, and time that we don't have.

So RFK was challenged in senate hearings about vaccines. And challenged by a real doctor, a GOP. Senator Bill Cassidy. The thing is, Senator Bill Cassidy just shut down RFK claims in real time. and quoted actual facts to RFK's face.

The problem is, that he and other jackasses voted for this incompetent fool, knowing full well, he wasn't qualified for the position at hand.

Which sadly, just exposes how corrupt things are. And Now Barron Trump has been exposed another scandal. Another Trump family member taking money from Americans, and pocketing the cash.

It never rains, but it pours!
