So Trump is still not following a judges orders to feed 42 million people. So, Trump's admin has filed a motion to stay, and run to the appeal court. But they likely will not grant that stay. Then, Trump can run to the SC. Will the corrupt SC side with Trump and allow him to withhold the money?

I would be surprised if they did, but the SC have more or less given Trump unlimited power. They could allow him to withhold funding. But if they did that. They will show their true colours.

Man, what a real mess. and Trump showing his true colours, as he is a totally evil SOB!

"I don't want to hear about affordability, because right now we have so much less. If you look at energy, we are close to $2 a gallon gasoline"

I checked, gasoline prices are near $3

Trump is clueless, and delusional. But yeah, he doesn't care.

The statement doesn't equal delusional and clueless, as it'd mean he must truly believe it.

Fairly sure he's delusional and clueless *without* that particular sentence as proof. By that I mean he did *win* the Presidential race via just making things up and spouting rhetoric that his fan base want to hear. There was no accuracy, honesty, nor validity to the vast majority of his statements; BBC fact check was having to do overtime - including the first 100 day claims (which include fuel prices as well).
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cy5rd35wg4ro

He just knows his base hang off his every word and parrot it for him to the wider voting public, and making stuff up got him this far to date - so why change now? Delusional and clueless was enacting tariffs and expecting everyone to roll over because "I'll make them bigger". I would link to the 1hr game theory video which proved, experimentally, via various strategies, that the best is always "if they defect, you do too, immediately... (and then be forgiving unless they defect again)". Meanwhile, trump seems to roll with "defect and then defect if they do. Endlessly" - which is a really really weak strategy.

We have Farage copy/pasting from this tactic book in the UK. Not a legit policy in sight, just endless made up rhetoric about what he'd be able to do (regardless of laws). Somehow that's turned into 34% of the electorate apparently want to vote for him... despite nothing to do with education, healthcare, defence (other than the Navy... in the channel), industry, commerce, trade, and so on.

https://www.ipsos.com/en-uk/reform-uk-l ... on-ratings

Not a single legitimate policy mentioned. Modern day politics \o/ Rule-by-tweet. But I don't think they're delusional... I think they're calculating and have observed how pathetic the voting public is; they don't want realities. They want fantasy.

Did you read or see the 60 minutes interview? I did post the transcript of it. Trump is delusional. everything he said simply wasn't true. He might believe what he is saying. But he is detached from reality.

So, as predicted. Trump has ran to the SC to stop the SNAP payments. Also, he ran back to Florida for the weekend.

I mean, IF the SC allows him to starve 42 million people. Edit, it seems that the SC has put the lower court on hold, which means, only partial payments will be made. Which means they will hear the case. When they could have easy have tossed it.

The only reason why they would even hear the case is if they side with Trump,

I guess that means, both Trump and the SC will be mass murders of US citizens, if they go down that path,

looking for middle ground here

Democrats: let's provide the people that need food, with food, healthcare. Plus pay the government workers

Republicans: let's not

Yeah I can see clearly now how's it's a Democrats' fault. If only they were more fascists leaning we'd have our white utopia

https://www.axios.com/2025/11/07/senate ... t-shutdown
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said Friday that Democrats would vote to end the government shutdown in exchange for a one-year extension of expiring ACA tax credits, multiple sources told Axios.

Why it matters: Democrats, emboldened by sweeping election victories this week, are adamant that Republicans must make concessions on health care before opening the government.

But Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) rejected the offer, calling it a "non-starter."
"I think it's an indication that they're feeling the heat, and they know that their last proposal was unserious and unrealistic," Thune told reporters. "I just don't think that it gets anywhere close to what we need to do here."
Thune has kept lawmakers on Capitol Hill for a rare Friday session — and could hold votes over the weekend on opening the government.

Well, things are getting interesting, a WH aide has been fired, and he has released a damning statement. Remember the person who gave Trump some money to fund the military? Well, it now turns out, Timothy Mellon father also flied to Jeffrey Epstein island. (of course we need the flight logs to prove that) So, if anyone thought that the donation was simply to fund the military for a month, is very sadly mistaken. This has Jeffrey Epstein written all over it.

Another thing, from a leak from within the senate, It seems that all the senators knows what in those said files. And Trump's connections/ crimes, is far worse then just some photos with topless girls sitting on his lap.

And lastly, Trump has been caught napping in the oval office while there was a press conference. Which has again renewed calls for more details about his health. But again the WH is covering up for him.

expanding the list of things Republicans would never outlaw
- abortion
- same sex marriage https://apnews.com/article/supreme-cour ... 47f8ea8231
- interracial marriage?

surely crazy you say? I heard that argument, it's the same for all three - the Federal government has no power to dictate these three to States. And States then decide, and you know how States decide that.

I think the title of the article you link provides the required context.
Democrats name their price on ending government shutdown
To be clear, I don't care "who's fault it is", nor how long it goes on for, nor what's required to end it. Just amusing how the answer isn't "both sides need to negotiate a satisfactory outcome" but definitely portrayed as "the side I dislike is 100% absolutely, categorically, to blame entirely. Not the other side. Not them no. Just the bad side. Bastards". That's aimed towards both the parties, and observers, everywhere. Obviously, behind closed doors and not the public forum of news/tweets they'll be in conversation to a degree to do just that. But in the public forum, they're going to be finger pointing and appearing to be useless.

Obviously Democrats are happy to extend the shutdown whatever cost (allegedly, remains to be seen if it continues) to extract concessions. Obviously the Republicans aren't willing to do so (arrogance of their leader I'd assume), or are betting the Democrats eventually cave to protect the public currently being rodgered senseless by it all. Reality, behind all the public bluster you'd hope they're talking like crazy to work things out.

All entertaining though and manage to make our own politicians seem almost caring :D

Erm, no I did not. Mainly as the post I quoted had no linked interview. Or transcript. Didn't see it in the prior post either. But taking your unsourced (there's no reference, so ... ) quote -- did you read my provided linked sources? They specifically fact check Trump's claim about fuel prices after his first 100 days. Where it's the same thing - he's been saying it for half a year.

But the point of my post was that saying doesn't equal believing. Did Trump *really* believe they were eating pets in wherever-it-was? If he genuinely believed it rather than just say it, then fair do's - he's needing medical help of the psychological nature :D

But I just refer back to "LOCK HER UP!" campaign quotes for his first term. All hot air; said it endlessly, gets into power, does nothing. Hence... says whatever he thinks may chime/resonate/gain votes/people will believe. Doesn't actually necessarily either believe nor intend to follow through. Probably why he was happy to bang on about releasing Epstein files, but then once won the election... :D

This is the 28 minute transcript of the 60 minute interview.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/read-full- ... ent-trump/

It was heavy edited, and there are videos showing what was cut. And an uploaded version that was cut farther.

He makes a lot of claims if not all of his claims to be totally BS and simply not true.

It is all very interesting. A new Politico article claims there is some movement, with some Democrats apparently indicating willingness to help end the shutdown. At the same time it is also interesting to see some of the usual party lines blurred on the Republican end. For example, while Marjorie Taylor Greene remains....well to be honest I have no idea how to classify her particular flavor of politics, she actually broke with Republican party line on a few issues, among others calling for Democrat Adelita Grijalva to be sworn in, which Republican Speaker Johnson has refused to do the last 6(?) weeks. The question now becomes who blinks first.

Even if the shutdown ends the question of Adelita Grijavlva still remains. If she were to be sworn in it is likely that a vote to release the Epstein files would pass. That seems to be more in the interest of the Democrats right now than the Republicans, so Johnson and Co. still need a way to either prevent Grijavlva to be sworn in, or a way that will lead to a different outcome on the vote. So things will remain interesting even after the end of the shutdown.

American politics is way passed that. Somewhere between January 6th, armed masked above law military police, a few assassinations of politicians.

You either support your side to win or you gonna be eaten by the other.

Finally, enough Democrat Senators have come to their senses. Senators Durbin, Hassan, King, Cortez Masto, Kaine, Shaheen, Rosen, and Fetterman, have joined 52 Republicans in a procedural vote to reopen the government! I hope the Democrats are happy with the nothing burger that they achieved for the American people, by shutting down the government and causing so much misery.

Impressive, just when the Democrats were gaining momentum they found a way to make it appear as if the shutdown was solely their fault, while accomplishing none of the goals they set out to accomplish and give Republicans what they wanted. They really HATE winning. It is like they are allergic to any positive PR.

Nah, they W.

Only the stupidest people would blame Democrats for shutdown - now Trump has a record of two longes shutdown on his account.
Taking step back and making shutdown coming to the end will make them the moderate party.

Good tactical move before Midterms, especially if Trump/Republicans will be dumb enough to try same thing next year just before elections.

Plus, people here were crying about 42 milion people at risk of getting starved - would it be smart for Democrats to starve their voters base? I don't think so.

And now Americans will pay another price, Due to air traffic controllers not being paid, they are severely understaffed. Which means, if Americans are thinking of travelling to see loved ones, think again. As it all going to go belly up. Even one of Trump's own staff admitted as much.

I think the two of us simply have differing views on what will win elections in America. I don't think moderation is going to win elections. That is why Trump is president not Harris and Mamdani was elected major of New York not Cuomo.

But it is very possible I am wrong and this the winning strategy. If it is, good for them.

That is precisely what is wrong with Democrats, they accomplish nothing.

So you gave Republicans everything and got nothing back, and you will lose the fight on ACA, Medicare and everything else.

Republicans will defund them.

On the left / right spectrum, checking notes, you are on the side of cowards.

a few years back, there was an article of how do voters that use ACA vote. And something like more than half say, they are very against social health care, Obamacare, and vote for Republicans, but they do support ACA.

It's very TBD whose voters are those
