Donald Trump has just announced plans for "board of peace" meant to take direct control of Gaza, with Trump as Chairman. As of now the details are still vague. What is unclear is, for example, if being chairman of the board would be tied to the function of the president of the United States or to Trump personally, so if this board came to be and if Trump at some point lost the presidency, it is, as of yet, not clear if he would remain as chairman. Also on the board would be, for whatever reason, former british prime minister Tony Blair. Leaving aside rather or not this strange board plan ever actually goes anywhere, the signal here is clear. America will be even more hands on and involved in the conflict going foreward.

Because the Iranian politician the article gets its information from is lying. Russia is absolutely not giving Iran "significant numbers" of S-400 systems. Also the HQ-9 system (which is a very potent AA system derived copied from the S-300), is expansive and I don't think China is gifting any to Iran any time soon. Iran's biggest threat are stealth assets (F-35s/B-2s) and while the HQ-9 and S-400 would probably be the best AA systems against these threats that a country like Iran could ever hope to get their hands on, I doubt that they are able to form any meaningful deterrent that would stop Israel and America from doing what they did last time.

So already threatening Hamas with more violence, even though he claimed credit for the peace deal. Trump only interest in Gaza is the land, and property deals that he can make. No interest in the people.

It is reminiscent of the Liz Truss vs. lettuce experiment from a few years ago. The thing I am wondering is if anyone even believed this peace would last? Because I doubt Hamas or the IDF ever did. Trump though? Yeah, I think he may have actually believed that he did something here.

Trump has no clue on what was going on in the region. Besides, all he cared for was the land and the money he would have made from it. He didn't care less for the people. But yes, the cease fire (and that is all that is was) was never going to hold. I doubt Trump will go there again. As for any renewed attempts on doing another cease fire, I doubt it. I think Israel will just bomb Gaza until there is nothing left. But it will be just another war crime, and I doubt anyone will really be punished for it. Especially as America will stand besides Israel regardless.
