CPU comparison for 5600x vs 7800x3d (video) with interesting result

I made a short fps comparison video after upgrading my CPU from the 5600x to the 7800x3d.
All tests were made in version 6.10 and with the same Windows installation and drivers.

Old system: Radeon 6900xt, 32GB DDR4 (3200Mhz), SSD, Ryzen 5600x
New system: Radeon 6900xt, 32GB DDR5 (6000Mhz), SSD, Ryzen 7800x3d

Test setup:
Tested dense empire and 2 save games with battle szenario. All with the same graphics settings and with all DLCs but no mods enabled.

While in dense empire I got about +30% more fps, I also made tests in dense combat situation where I used the Devstart szenario (there is a mod that enables this) and created 2 different saves right after start so that the universe is always the same. But still everytime you load a save, the AI behaves a bit different, thats why I made 2 tests.

Here comes the fun part... in both combat szenarios I got WAY better results than in the dense empire test. Performance increased by +70-80% which is huge.

I also forgot to enable xmp profile before making these videos with the 7800x3d, so with xmp I get even better results. Xmp was enabled with the 5600x test. In Dense empire for example I have +40% now.

X4 LOVES extra cache. I went from a 3900x to a 5800x3d and my fps was DOUBLED in many instances. I.e. a large battle that might drop to 30fps would remain at a solid 60fps (my chosen limit) with the 4800X3d. Very pleased with the result of a simple in-socket upgrade. I suspect the 5800X3d will see me through at least one more GPU upgrade. I'm currently using a 3070, which has exceeded my expectations also.

There's a new affordable "3D" released, Ryzen 7 5700X3D (280€) - more affordable than 5800X3D (345€ or 65€ diff), and I have Ryzen 5 5600X..
Does this upgrade make sense (for X4) or it's better to wait for a deal for 5800X3D? I don't plan to change platform and staying on AM4 for now.
Using AMD RX 5700 in 2K resolution.

9800x is expected to come close to 7800x3d in many scenarios due to various improvements - reviews should release any day now.

9800x3d release forecasts start as early as September - generally expected by year end.

While I'm still really happy with my current 5800X3d, I'm certainly interested to see how the 9000 series X3d chips perform. I think I have at least one GPU upgrade before I do a complete platform change. Though I'm still perfectly happy with how my 3070 is performing.
