Re: Ladies and gentlemen, it's been an honour.
Thanks for the update Redvers.
Paul was also here on the forums we used before we switched over to these ones. In fact, iirc, we had 2 other forum platforms before this one and Paul was there too. He was certainly here pretty consistently for well over 20 years.
I think everyone should take some comfort in knowing that Paul enjoyed his time here (in the main!) and interacting with fans, staff and playing the games was an integral part of his life.
You all brought some joy to him, so I will take a moment to reflect and remember that as a positive thing.
Paul said it had been an honour. It was an honour for me to have known him.
He really won't be forgotten and will be very much missed.
@Bernd: No problem at all. Very welcome.

Re: Ladies and gentlemen, it's been an honour.
After giving it some thought, I've decided to post a link to the JustGiving page that was set up in Paul's name. I've not sought his family's permission to post this link, so I hope they won't mind, and I need to be very clear that this is purely for information, in case anyone is interested, and is in no way intended as a request for people to donate.

I'm sure they won't mind, and it's a more than worthwhile cause.

Re: Ladies and gentlemen, it's been an honour.
I wanted to drop by to offer my condolences, - I only heard very recently, having been away far too long. You were with us from the very beginning, when we were astounded by BTF, and then X-Tension, building a world, and a community, with depth and narrative content that eventually became lore. I'm incredibly grateful for having shared that time, and for the considered and helpful approach you always offered. Travel well, may your gates be eternal.

I didn't even know this had happened, I dont come in the off topic forum much.
I remember all the help and hints PJK used to give after I first joined here in 2006.
Fond memories of his helpful and knowledgable guidance.
RIP Paul, if you can see this, I just had a minutes silence at your memorial ..

Re: Ladies and gentlemen, it's been an honour.
Oh boy. Just catching up with this.
PJK was there from the very start. We were all kids, but he was slightly less of a kid. Even recently still.
Always sensible, usually right.
He helped me pull my brand new PC apart, swap parts, gave me confidence to reinstall major things that I had no business doing.
He scolded me if I drunk posted nonsense, praised me when I finally captured the Perseus.
There seemed to be nothing he didn’t know.
He was such a stable character. The world needs more stable characters.
Massively missed.
Thank you PJK, and thank you Egosoft for the very fitting in-game tribute.
Chris.

Crazy to think it's three years today since Paul passed.
Here's to the day when cancer is beaten for good.
See you on the other side of the jump gate, my friend.

I didn't know him, but he clearly meant a lot to this community. That you all still think of him is a pretty fine memorial.

Re: Ladies and gentlemen, it's been an honour.
Thanks mate. Im here, bruised, battered but whole with a mass of crazy ideas.
Forums such as these are special. They are pre Facebook, or ai... pre controlled internet.
Uncensored communication is rare... I'll be talking about a whole lot of weird stuff soon enough XD
