Aha! Thank you! Took me a minute to realize that I had to type the words into the text box of the filter area. I was looking for a specific vault check box.

Over 2000 hours in this game over the last few years and I still learn little nit picky stuff. XD

I havent tried looking for them haha. Most of the data vaults i have found are because i always pay extra to get the long range scanners for all of my ships.

Can Data Vaults spawn in Leap of Faith?

If I ever find the damn vaults I'll have to go back and pick up or destroy hundreds of my own satellites. Sucks.

Upon some reflection it occurs to me that its nice that the Erlking is available to get without needing research, as I sometimes like to do playthroughs without getting the HQ and staying the heck away from Boso.

I'd still like for the required blueprints to have mission markers to go and get, though.

oh the pain of data vault search, I'm in the hate this activity boat.

Now I'm up to 4/5, but the RNG probably screwd me in this save.

Two vaults nice and easy almost next to each other in one sector
3rd quite far but still within avarice 1 map border without it expanding
4th was a real pain because it spawned over 200km south of the gate to black hole sun, and i was searching top to botom sectors from centre outward
5th can't find it and i scattered over 400 adv satellites

Is anyone else having so much problem with them coming from pre 5.0 update gameplay? because every new custom game with satellite coverage i loaded all vaults were spawned close to the centre of a system or not far from it but always within the sats range, one game even spawned 3 in one sector

This RNG is bad, I used a mod that expands sat coverage to whole sector, took ages to load and got 2fps while looking, it only showed 1 data vault(i need 4) in all 6 sectors. I removed mod and went to the one that was found and the long range scanner did not work on it(no blue/purple ring or sound, so how are you supposed to find them?

Hotfix two notes:

"Fixed Erlking turret blueprints not being obtainable."

Can anyone tell me what the specific problem and solution is? I hope it can give me some insight as to how I can get the blueprints I've been searching for for about 10 hours now...

Before 5.00 HF2 the L and M turret blueprints were unobtainable. 5.00 HF2 added an additional 2 data vaults containing these blueprints so they are now obtainable.

Found 4. There were two in one Avarice 1, 1 in Avarice 4, and 1 in Windfall 3. The last, for M turrets, yet eludes me.

Can confirm that the vaults in Avarice do not ping off of long range scan.

edit: its actually the medium turrets I'm missing, not L.

I just noticed that I received the achievement "Riding Late Through Night and Wind," which states that I have fully upgraded the Erlking. Yet, how can this be if I have not gained the medium turret blueprint nor installed medium turrets?

Unless its because I modded the Erlking as soon as I first got it and modifying all the components that were on it at the time earned the achievement? That would be funny.

I already answered that earlier in this topic. However here it is again with some more clarity.

The blueprints you need to find are...

Shield Generator* (worse than TER MK2)

Engines*

XL Battery* (no choice)

M Turret (no choice)

L Turret (no choice)

* - These modules must be installed in order to gain the achievement, Riding Late Through Night and Wind, and the office trophy of the Erlking.

Eh.. the "upgrades" from the achievement description sounded like "modifications" to me, rather than just getting the standard fittings installed. (Also, no fair, you changing your own quote like that.)

But aside from that, I'm trying to think if there's something basic or simple that I'm missing, or if its unreasonable randomized vault locations, or both.

I mean... how long would the designers expect players to spend looking for these blueprints?

same problem.
save from pre 5.0 updates.

2 vaults in avarice 1 in plain sight mid-sector.
1 vault in windfall IV a bit out of the way but still inside standard sector borders.

deployed tons of satellites to no avail.
finished my last terraforming projects while searched for the vaults

mission markers plz !!!

Yeah, this is not fun gameplay. This is searching for a specific needle in a gigantic pile of needles; all pain.

Really wish you at least got hints where to look.
