Sounds like everything is moving along nicely towards completion. A couple more Beta releases, and hopefully we'll see a release. TofA is on my wishlist.

I love the range of sounds Alexei has done for the different DLCs. SV is space-y and synthetic, CoH is ethereal and a bit acoustic (with lots of ethnic sounds) - this is fierce and industrial. Great stuff

Edit: especially like the contrast between CoH and ToA. CoH sells the idea of Sol (+PIO space) as precious and serene. ToA sounds like it's for somewhere ill-at-ease with itself - even in the ambient snippets there's tension just below the surface.

Spawn of Desolation is giving me flashbacks of that awful X:Rebirth highway music.

The music seems decent. SV was excellent, CoH was ****, this looks like it might be somewhere in-between. I do wish sci-fi composers could make ambient music that wasn't just repeating arpeggios and long synth chords.

I am a big fan of Alexei's work over the years. He produced some phenomenal tracks.

However, the TOA preview didnt really "strike a chord" with me tbh. The pieces in the mixdown seem very action-oriented which I was never a fan of. I prefer the calm and melodical ambient style music in X.

Exactly the same for me. except I actually liked it , I would just make sure its not played too frequently, combat and highways (in Rebirth) might be challenging since it happens quite often.
