Steal Equipment Help

So Im trying to obtain "System Override Software" from Dukes.

1. I tried sending agents three times to Duke's heaven to steal the equipment. All 3 times they failed. What are the factors effecting steal equipment tasks? Do the race of the agent matters? Because all I have is Teladi agents as I do only Teladi missions to negate rep hits.

2. Is this software available in black market? I have been checking many many black markets throughout the universe, still failed to find one.

I think that each fail rise the possibility that the next try will work. I think that Duke is the only one that has this. It is illegal, there is another software that mask this and make it invisible from police scanners.

Fom what i heared so far your chance of stealing should increase each try. For some gear and stations i had to sennd 4-5 agents before i got em.
I didnt notice any disadvantage of sending other races agents.
From what i experience a argon agent can steal as succesful from the split as a split or paranid agent woud.
On the other hand stealing means you dont have to pay credits as you would in the "legal" diplomacy so i guess thats why they made it difficult

Unless I'm thinking of another software, I thought you could get it from Pirate stations?

If it is the one I'm thinking of, which is about 600k per software, then yeah I've had it shown up in the black market as well, but rarely, like 1 out of every 20 stations rarely.

I bought it exactly from a black market! Curios that Build Command Software Mk1 and Build Command Software Mk2 also could be found there, but TL cannot dock to trade station

True, its actually Software Scrambler thing I need. I found lot of other piracy softwares in black market, but not this one.

I also had a number of agents fail, after which I just saved right before sending the agent on the mission. Took six tries in total I think, to steal the cargo lifesupport system from Void Alpha pirate base >.>

I first tried saving right before mission completes, but it failed 5/5 times doing that, so I'm pretty sure it's seeded at the start to prevent savescumming

My 5th agent succeeded.

Trick here is to send agents when they have only 2 tasks left. Otherwise it will be a waste.
